“Everything’s bigger in Texas.”

Amen. But y’all, all it took was a teeny package on my doorstep to make me realize that sometimes the sweetest things come in small sizes. Even in Texas.

For years I’ve shopped at The Impeccable Pig, one of my very favorite boutiques in Dallas. So I was thrilled when a little package arrived from them with my name on the label. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I opened it to find these, the most delicate, darling earrings I have ever seen in my life!

Not only are they the prettiest depiction of my state that I’ve ever seen, these Kris Nation’s earrings are ever so dainty. I swear by pearl studs, but I’m so excited to be able to wear these anytime I need a more subtle earring.

Oh and did I mention they’re in the shape of TEXAS.

In the meantime, I had too much fun dressing these little lovelies up in a combination of, you guessed it, Southern and Texas style. I hope you enjoy!

The small size of the earrings allows for flashier necklaces, so I opted for my favorite gold statement and a breezy JCrew sweater. (I bought the sweater in a large, by the way, so it would be roomy and cozy.)

I jump on any excuse I can come up with for cowboy boots. And yes, I’d say this was one of them.

If that’s not your cup of tea, I made my new favorite sandals a second option.

I incorporated a sweet little bow bracelet to try to make a “I’m weirdly obsessed with Texas but look I can be dainty as well” statement. Did it work? (Just kidding. I’m actually thoroughly enchanted by anything with a bow. In fact, there’s a fun linkup all about them here!)

I loved having an excuse to show my Texas pride in a subtle (well, with the boots maybe not so subtle) way. Are you big on state pride? Any other state trinkets I’m missing out on? I’d love to know!
