I live for the creamy, caramely, soft hues of browns and tans during this time of year. Look at my closet, and that’s the color scheme you’ll see the most of! From leather boots to winter coats and everything in between, it’s my go-to-hue.

So when I saw this beautiful little blouse in that same shade I love so much, I couldn’t want to try it on. I’m one to reach for dresses before anything else, so when I find a blouse I truly love, I make sure to scoop it up.

This one is autumn perfection, with its perfectly-cut v-neckline and adorable sleeve detailing. And let’s talk about the fabric, shall we?! A soft and sudsy faux-suede that adds the perfect fall texture to any ensemble.

If this morning in Dallas has been any indication, I just may get the chance to wear it this week! The temperatures are a little cooler and the air a little crisper than my muggy, beloved Gainesville. I’m soaking it up as much as I can!

Love from Texas,

Kate

in a french minute // my new kate spade new york hollis watch

I’m always struck by how Parisian style effortlessly proves the “less is more” theory to be true, and in that vein, I only brought two pieces of jewelry. Understated and beautiful items I could wear with every single ensemble… a pair of pearl studs and a new favorite of mine, the Kate Spade Hollis Bangle Watch!

When packing up for a week and a half in France, you can be sure I included all of the usuals: tasteful stripes, creamy neutrals and of course, timeless accessories!

Understated and beautiful items I could wear with every single ensemble… a pair of pearl studs and a new favorite of mine, the new kate spade new york hollis bangle watch!

When the kate spade new york team asked if I would be interested in introducing you all to this beautiful little timepiece, I was très excited. It’s no secret I adore the brand itself, but this beautiful bangle has taken my obsession to a new level.

It’s a beautifully classic piece, and a unique one as well. And while I have several watches to my name, none of them have the same transitional ease, thanks to the bangle element, of the Hollis! This makes it a watch you can wear to work, out with friends on the weekends, or even paired with a fabulous frock for a fancy occasion. I can honestly say I don’t own anything like it!

I’ve been wearing it non-stop over the past few weeks, from my weekend getaway with Andrew to Savannah to the past ten days in France. I know it’s a piece I’ll continue to wear for years! See a few recent excursions I’ve taken my Hollis watch on below:

Just so you know, the Hollis watch also comes in three other colors! So many pinks, which you know makes my heart sing. Which is your favorite?

Kate

Leopard, ladies. I can’t get enough of it! A little bit goes a long way. In my opinion, there’s no better way to add a pop of fun to a neutral ensemble… which is why I’m loving this leopard wrap!

I actually tried on this scarf a few weeks ago and quickly realized y’all loved it as much as I do. It’s lightweight, soft, and the inverse color detailing is such a cute touch.

Since it does have a large, loose fit, I’d recommend styling it with slimmer pieces. A great pair of skinny jeans and a simple sweater, or even a cute little black dress. Lots of options when it comes to a piece like this!

Best yet?! You can take 40% off this wrap with the code GOBIG. Most of the J.Crew site is included in this sale, as well. These are always my favorite times to stock up on great fall basics!

Wishing everyone a lovely Wednesday! We just toured the Louvre and right now are taking a quick coffee break before lunch. Can’t wait to share more!

Love from Paris,

Kate

packing for paris // 18 items in my bag

Bonjour, friends! I’m writing to you from way up high… currently en route to Paris! My bags are all packed, checked and, gratefully, under 50 lbs. A huge win in my book! (Technically the largest one was 52, but the kind attendant looked the other way. Whew!)

My friend Caroline and I will be landing at 6am this Monday morning, and plan to hit the ground running. No time to waste, am I right?

I thought it would be fun to share a sneak peek at what I’ve packed up for the 10 day journey ahead. I love dressing for Paris, especially in autumn. Give me all the layers! You’ll be seeing plenty of looks over on Instagram these next two weeks, but here’s a preview.

I kept my ensembles very classic and neutral for the most part, but there is one trendy piece I’m so excited to break out… these mom jeans! I never thought I could ever pull them off, and maybe I can’t (haha!), but I’m officially obsessed. Can’t wait to wear them!

Signing off to watch Aladdin and hopefully get some sleep before the long flight ahead. Wishing everyone a fabulous start to your week!

a few friday favorites

I can’t wait to take you along on all of the fun in France this coming week, but before wheels are up, let’s go over a few favorites from this week. I’ve got some fun ones to share with you! Here’s a peek at a few things I’m packing up:

You know what makes this Friday especially fun? The fact that I… drumroll please… leave for Paris in two days! If you haven’t heard me talk about it yet, I’m packing my bags and heading to France as a guest of Disney Adventures for a Seine River Cruise. My precious friend Caroline is joining me for a whirlwind 10 day trip through France, and we’ve been talking about it non-stop these past few weeks!

I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited Paris a handful of times over the years. It’s without a doubt my favorite city in the world, because the cliches are true. It’s just as magic in-person as every movie and song makes it out to be!

This will be my first time exploring other parts of France, and the Adventures by Disney team has crafted the most incredible itinerary complete with visits to chateaus, hikes to the top of beautiful towns, orchard visits, macaroon demonstrations and more. I cannot wait to see more of this stunning country!

NEW JUSTIN BIEBER SONG

Have y’all heard it? It’s a new one with Dan & Shay (interesting collaboration but I’m here for it!) called 10,000 hours… and it’s so sweet! Having a bit of a JBiebs moment due to his recent wedding celebration at the Montage Palmetto Bluff.

FAVE SHAVE CREAM

I picked this up on a whim while at Target the other day, and I don’t know what magic is bottled up in this but my legs have never felt smoother! Have any of y’all tried it?

BOOK UPDATE

A few of you have asked how I’ve been liking a new book I’ve been reading, American Royals. I’m now 3/4 of the way through it, and am loving it so far! It’s definitely a teen read, but it’s fun to get lost in this alternate reality. Excited that it’s a series, and more books will be coming out!

DREAM DRESS (I’M TAKING WITH ME!)

It’s not often I splurge on a piece that’s not specifically for a special occasion, but when I saw this dress, my heart stopped. The color, the fit… everything, absolute perfection! It arrived a few days ago and fits like a dream. (I ordered a Ted Size 0.) I’m packing it up for Paris because if the city of lights is not an occasion to wear this I don’t know what is!

MY WHITE SNEAKER SITUATION

My new shoe crush? These white sneakers! Not only are they insanely comfortable, but there’s also a 2″ wedge hidden inside! I’ll take a little lift wherever I can get it these days. so these were a no brainer. They’re going to be my go-to in France, and now I’m wanting them in every color!

HOME CHEF HOME RUN

Andrew and I have been using Home Chef for a couple of months now, and seriously can not say enough good things. It’s a total dream that they’ve chosen to partner with me, so you’ll be seeing me create some of their meals these next few months! This shoutout isn’t sponsored, however. I just wanted to let y’all know about a few delicious orders we’ve cooked recently… Ginger Steak and Peppers, Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and Chicken Bahn Mi Lettuce Wraps all get five stars from us. If you’ve used Home Chef before, what have been some of your favorite meals?

Now, I need to finish up packing and a few errands! Andrew and I are heading to our neighborhood October Festival this evening and tailgating for the Florida homecoming game tomorrow. It’s busy weekend before an even busier week, and I’m so excited!

wedding wednesday // let’s hear it for the (page)boys

I’ve been lucky enough to have been a flower girl twice in my lifetime. And I know it sounds cheesy, but I have to confess that to this day those were two of my favorite experiences of my lifetime. I still remember them like they were yesterday… my first taste…

I’ve been lucky enough to have been a flower girl twice in my lifetime. And I know it sounds cheesy, but I have to confess that to this day those were two of my favorite experiences of my lifetime. I still remember them like they were yesterday… my first taste of matrimony magic! The dancing, the dresses, it all felt like a total dream. To this day, I still cherish those photos!

Which is why I knew without a doubt that when my own wedding came, I definitely wanted children involved! By the time Andrew and I were to be wed, however, none of my cousins had little girls of flower girl age. But boys?! Oh, plenty of those. Five, in fact!

This sparked my desire to have five, yes five, little boys five and under in our wedding. Four are the children of my cousins that I am very closest to, and one is Andrew’s baby cousin, which made for such a special and sentimental touch. And throughout the craziness of wedding planning, thinking about these five precious littles walking down the aisle always managed to put a huge smile on my face!

The reality was even better (and crazier!) than I could have ever dreamed. I hope you enjoy these photos of these precious page boys! Everyone, meet Coleman, William, Woodson, Beckett, and Cash! (Psst, I’m sharing all the info on their outfits below!)

BOYS OUTFITS (use code LONESTAR10 for 10% off your order!) | SHOES | KNEE SOCKS

Let’s just say, I seriously hope I get to be a boy mom one of these days!

My vision? A whole gang of them dressed in little white shorts, shoes and knee socks. I was looking for something beautiful and timeless, a trickier combination to find than I had anticipated! I did some serious Pinterest stalking and intense google searching before finding the most precious ensembles from Isabel Garreton. My mom and I combed through each option and settled on the Sebastian ensemble in cotton!

When we first found the ensembles, which were exactly what I had envisioned, I didn’t realize what an amazing company Isabel Garreton is! So I wanted to take a second to introduce you. Isabel Garreton is actually a social enterprise, meaning the company is not profit-based, and has existed for thirty years to help women break the cycle of poverty for their families. So not only are the garments exquisitely made, but they change lives! There’s a video of the beautiful story behind the line that you can watch here.

When we received these crips, pristine and completely adorable outfits in the mail a couple of months before our wedding, I literally cried. They were so much more beautiful in person than I had imagined! We (and by we I mean my mother) spent the next few weeks adjusting the hem on each top and short so that the fit was just perfect, hitting a few inches above the knee. Then, the accessories! My mother found these little white lace ups and some white knee socks to finish out the look.

I’ll never forget laying out the pieces the day of the wedding and lacing up each shoe with my mom. There were so many details of the wedding I was excited for, but this was without a doubt on the tippy top of my list. When I walked out to the front of the church to see the boys in their outfits for the first time, I nearly dropped dead with how cute they were.

All five of them were absolutely adorable running around causing trouble before the ceremony. (Bless their saintly mothers who got them through the long day!) When the time came to walk down the aisle, only three of the five made it. Haha! But the comedic relief it gave to such a serious ceremony was perfect, and I can’t wait to have these photos as the boys get older and older. (And to one day pull out when they get married, too!)

I have been so excited to share these details with you, since these boys were one of the highlights of our big day. Also, the lovely team at Isabel Garreton has provided a discount code for Lonestar Southern followers! Use code LONESTAR10 for 10% off your purchase. And since I’ve received so many questions about the exact outfits, I wanted to let you know that the Sebastian ensemble is currently sold out in cotton but still available in silk. It will be back in stock in cotton shortly!

Now I’m dying to know… did you have children in your wedding?! And if so, how many!
