coffee date no. 9

It’s that time again, folks! Where I take a day to post my latest Instagrams up here in one place and walk you through the recent un-photographed happenings and updates in my life. We like to call them “coffee dates” around here, so grab a cup and get comfortable!

There you have it friends! It’s been about a month since my last coffee date. Nothing monumental has happened during that time, and there have been some amazing high’s as well as a couple of shifts in my personal life that have been challenging to walk through. Nothing crazy by any means, but a few instances that have just been hard… Sometimes life is like that, right?

If it was up to me, I’d prefer to learn lessons “the easy way.” But I’m finding that in the stretching, unsure and tricky moments, the Lord reveals himself to me in really big ways. It’s these moments that push me to train my focus all the more tightly on the Lord. And as hard as it is to say this…. that makes everything worth it. It really does.

I have found such peace and true joy in the midst of hurt and uncertainty by simply leaning on Him. So I figured I would take a second to share just a little of this on the off chance that even one of you is going through something hard and is in need encouragement! Know that you’re not alone, and there is One who cares for you more than you know.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He DELIGHTS in EVERY DETAIL of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalm 37: 23-24

Along these same lines, I wanted to let y’all know of a great, easy devotional I’m going through at the moment! It’s called Women in the Word, and every day is a short study on a different… you guessed it… woman in the bible. If you’re looking for a practical, easy way to spend more time in the word, I can’t recommend this study enough.

Looking at the next few weeks ahead, there are some fun things in the works that I can’t wait to fill you in on! I always love how busy fall gets… do any of you feel that way! The constant hustle and bustle as we move into the holiday season warms my heart. I hope you’re enjoying every minute of it so far!

Thank you so much for making time for me today. You don’t know how much I appreciate it!

Love from Texas,

Kate

P.S. Y’all. I would just love to hear how I can better encourage you in your day-to-day! If you’d like to see more faith-based encouragement here on the blog, Instagram, or wherever else, or have any ideas for ways you’d like to be encouraged in this space, I’d love for you to comment or shoot me an email! :) You rock.

Kate, i love your little coffee dates. And that keychain, oh my word, where can I get it, because its on the top of my wish list right now. I’ve been searching high and low for a cute won’t break the bank keychain all year! And love when you write about your faith. I’m rocking my thesis defense this afternoon and that scripture was just what my heart needed to hear this morning. :)

I would love to hear about how you stay focused and manage a work/home balance as a young grad working from home. I will be graduating from college soon and I am trying to decide whether I would like working from home or not!

Thanks for the link to woman in the word, I’ve never seen it before but it looks great. I want to scroll the site more and hopefully try one of the studies.
Have you ever read books by Marian Jordan or her Redeemed Girl podcasts? They are amazing, so truthful, straightforward, and encouraging.
