It’s that time again, folks! Where I take a day to post my latest Instagrams up here in one place and walk you through the recent un-photographed happenings and updates in my life. We like to call them “coffee dates” around here, so grab a cup and get comfortable!
P.S. Just for your reference, I’ve included a little caption above each pic to give you more details and context. The more long-winded update happens at the bottom of this post.
Let’s start out with the coolest little trick I learned. Order a grande iced caramel macchiato with raspberry for PINK COFFEE!
Take it from me. You’re never too old for a popsicle break. Dreamsicle bars are my weakness.
It doesn’t get more classic than navy gingham and red accents! These shoes are just $20.
Here’s a little glimpse at how I spend Sunday afternoons… Netflix marathons of Friday Night Lights! #TeamRiggins
Pink pea coats and leopard loafers make a winning combination, don’t you think?
I have been using this reversible blush/taupe tote non-stop this fall! A great fall bag, and a great way to get two looks in one piece!
Cutest key chain EVER, right? And a great gift idea at under $20.
A few Kendra Scott goodies I’ve been loving lately. How darling are their greek charms?!
Fresh flowers make everything better.
Lots of navy and a little red for an easy, Parisian look!
I cannot WAIT to bring this pink beauty out of the closet when colder weather rolls around! Unfortunately, the pink color sold out in a flash but there are still a few other darling shades in stock.
I have been loving easy dresses lately. The best way to stay comfortable while looking put together!
Back with my favorite fall accessory. My deer printed Barrington Bag!
I can’t take these pumps off. They add the most sophisticated yet fun touch to any outfit!
Scallops and leopard and pointy toes… oh my! I’ve been wearing these nonstop.
Fair skinned ladies! I’ve found the perfect nude lip shade…. “Adrienne.” Worth every penny!
Why yes. I was the basic girl who celebrated the first day of fall in a scarf with pumpkin spice latte in hand. #NoShame
You’ve already heard me ooh and ahh about this faux shearling vest. I LOVE it, y’all. So easy to throw on – it automatically amps up any outfit!
Loved meeting these freshman SMU ladies while boulevarding before their homecoming game. Pony up!
I wore this easy swing dress on my drive to Austin a few weekends ago. So comfortable!
Could stare at these beauties all day.
The first signs of pumpkin patches officially means fall is on it’s way!
Did y’all know that on national coffee day, Krispy Kreme gave away cups of joe AND donuts? You bet I took advantage. :)
Loved spotting these gorgeous cactus plants outside of my favorite coffee shop in Austin a couple weeks ago!
The face of a happy Longhorn after beating OU in this year’s Red River Rivalry! This skirt is by Pearl Southern Couture, and is my favorite during football season.
Yet again, more evidence of my obsession with these pointy-toed Jack Rogers flats!
I love starting my mornings reading through scripture, praying and journaling. My favorite journals (like this one) are from Barnes and Noble!
Diving into some delicious cookies my old roommate Carole Anne sent over as a little “pick me up” last week!
Me and off-the-shoulder are never breaking up, FYI.
I loved attending ACL weekend 1 with Skinny Pop! It was my first ACL experience, and one I’ll never forget. (Brought along a bandana to help me fit in with the hipster crowd…)
A few fall favorites I’ve been loving lately. This skirt has been on heavy rotation!
This past Sunday, one of my best friends Julie and I drove from Dallas to Austin and back in one day! We had a friend’s bridal shower there that we were not about to miss. A stop at Whataburger was a must!
In the most spontaneous decision I’ve ever made, my friend Julie and I bought tickets to the Dallas Taylor Swift concert five hours before it began on Saturday! What a night to remember. Complete magic! Here’s a peek at the look I wore.
These past three weeks, the State Fair of Texas has been in action! I got the chance to visit with my family, and as always had the best time ever. Favorite fried food? Fried caramel apples! AMAZING.
Lucky for us Dallas girls, a new Vineyard Vines store opened in Northpark (our local mall) a few months ago! I had the chance to visit for the first time last week, and had the best time playing with their new fall arrivals. That vest!
My latest purse obsession…. this green Kate Spade beauty! I can’t think of a prettier shade for a fall bag.
A quick shot of my favorite way to spend mornings. Starting my day off on this foot makes a worlds difference and is so worth it!
There you have it friends! It’s been about a month since my last coffee date. Nothing monumental has happened during that time, and there have been some amazing high’s as well as a couple of shifts in my personal life that have been challenging to walk through. Nothing crazy by any means, but a few instances that have just been hard… Sometimes life is like that, right?
If it was up to me, I’d prefer to learn lessons “the easy way.” But I’m finding that in the stretching, unsure and tricky moments, the Lord reveals himself to me in really big ways. It’s these moments that push me to train my focus all the more tightly on the Lord. And as hard as it is to say this…. that makes everything worth it. It really does.
I have found such peace and true joy in the midst of hurt and uncertainty by simply leaning on Him. So I figured I would take a second to share just a little of this on the off chance that even one of you is going through something hard and is in need encouragement! Know that you’re not alone, and there is One who cares for you more than you know.
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He DELIGHTS in EVERY DETAIL of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” Psalm 37: 23-24
Along these same lines, I wanted to let y’all know of a great, easy devotional I’m going through at the moment! It’s called Women in the Word, and every day is a short study on a different… you guessed it… woman in the bible. If you’re looking for a practical, easy way to spend more time in the word, I can’t recommend this study enough.
Looking at the next few weeks ahead, there are some fun things in the works that I can’t wait to fill you in on! I always love how busy fall gets… do any of you feel that way! The constant hustle and bustle as we move into the holiday season warms my heart. I hope you’re enjoying every minute of it so far!
Thank you so much for making time for me today. You don’t know how much I appreciate it!
Love from Texas,
P.S. Y’all. I would just love to hear how I can better encourage you in your day-to-day! If you’d like to see more faith-based encouragement here on the blog, Instagram, or wherever else, or have any ideas for ways you’d like to be encouraged in this space, I’d love for you to comment or shoot me an email! :) You rock.
