The little black dress is a closet-staple for good reason… simple and strikingly sophisticated, it’s one dress that can be worn to a variety of occasions while always delivering a perfectly poised look. I’m not one to wear a ton of solid black, so when it comes to a little black dress, you can bet I only settle for those that have a little extra “oomph” to them. Something that maintains the element of chic while also setting itself apart from the pack.

Enter this stunning bell sleeved beauty. I mean… hello gorgeous! I am a sucker for the bell sleeve trend this season, and absolutely love the dramatic flare they can add to any ensemble. I came across this piece a couple of months ago while searching for something to wear to the wedding of a dear friend. The second I laid eyes on this number, I knew I’d stumbled across a winner!

The design of these sleeves is a tad bit different from your typical bell sleeve, and in the most gorgeous and subtle way. Take a look at the images where my arms are to my sides, specifically, the third image down from the top. Do you see how elegantly the neckline frames the shoulders? When your arms are down, the sleeves create a beautiful drape effect that looks sophisticated and chic. The fun happens when you get to dancing. That’s when the full effect of the bell sleeves comes into play!

You all know that “fun factor” is a huge deciding characteristic when it comes to selecting and recommending wardrobe pieces, and let me assure you that this is one of the most fun dresses I’ve ever worn to dance in! In fact, here’s a photo my friend Nicole shot at said wedding… case in point.

I’m thrilled to see that this dress has been debuted in new colors for spring! It looks like the sleeves are a touch longer, but that they still have the amazing “wow” factor that this little black dress does! I included the lilac shade in last week’s Latest & Greatest post. I’m dying to add it to my dress collection!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! My goal is to have a new Coffee Date post up tomorrow. Can’t wait to get all caught up, it’s been too long! (If you missed the last one, you can read it here.)

Love from Texas,

Kate
