There ain’t no doubt in no one’s mind that love’s the finest thing around.
James Taylor said it best in “Carolina in my Mind.” This past week, I got see the sunshine, feel the moonshine, and soak up the beauty and green of gorgeous North Carolina. And I have to say… as much as I love Texas, it was hard to come back.
It might have had something to do with the person waiting there for me.
Or the adventures we went on.
The forced pictures.
And the candid moments.
Real-life dates at real-life restaurants. (rare for us)
And yummy snacks every other hour. (no so rare for us)
The making of new friends.
And all in all, 7 days of uninterrupted time with him.
I loved every moment of my short trip to the deep south. We drove, ate, concerted, jet-skiied, FIFA’d, and held hands to our hearts content. I couldn’t ask for more!
The day after leaving North Carolina, I headed off to rush week in Austin. I’m all moved into the Kappa Kappa Gamma house, and y’all… beautiful doesn’t BEGIN to cover it! I can’t wait to show you how my room has turned out!
I can’t wait for a new semester. I can’t wait for a darling new pledge class. I can’t wait for a normal schedule and plenty of time to dive into the fashions and southern traditions of Fall, and I can’t wait to bring you along with me!
So thank you all so much for hanging in there these past few weeks as my world has been running at 100 miles an hour. I hope these little updates have given you a pretty good snapshot of where I’ve been, where I am, and where I’m headed!
Happy Friday to my favorites! (That’s YOU!)
Love, Kate

Hi sweetie! I’m a little bit older than you but I live in Charlotte – my fiance and I met at Queens University and have done long distance for years now so I know what y’all are going through.
We are getting married here in CLT in two weeks and our wedding song is Gone to Carolina so reading the lyrics in your post brought tears to my eyes!
Love your blog, you’re adorable. xo
