peplum high low blouse

This is one of those “go-to” tops, friends. The lovely, low maintenance cut looks great with just about everything (denim shorts to jeans) and for just about everything (workday to evening!) It has a lovely, subtle striping to it and a really flattering dipped hemline.

Everything about this look screams April to me, and I love it. April is easily my favorite month of the year, and I love dressing for it in all of the soft, breezy, feminine pieces I can get my hands on… this peplum high low blouse being one of them!

I accidentally ordered an XXS instead of my usual size, XS, and as you can see it’s a little tight across the chest. I’m exchanging it for one size bigger!

lace off the shoulder top

Y’all. Let me start off by saying that this red lace off the shoulder top has a built in bandeau. YES. Meaning you don’t have to mess with an uncomfortable strapless bra, undershirt, or any of that stuff. Meaning it is the most comfortable thing ever and a must have for these next few months! (And not to get ahead of the game here… but am I the only one thinking July 4th?!)

I love the unexpected lace material… you’ll notice it’s veryyy subtly sheer around the torso area, which gives it a unique twist without being risqué. I’m not wearing them in this post, but if you click HERE you’ll also see that this top has removable straps! Giving you two looks in one.

On a final note, it also comes in white and black. And chances are very high that I’ll be purchasing them as well. At under $100, it’s hard not to! (Psst, for size reverence, I’m wearing an XS.)

white off the shoulder ruffle dress

I am in love with how elegant of a statement the exaggerated ruffle neckline gives this frock. Perfect for Easter, bridal showers and parties galore! You’ve heard me say this before… I love stocking up on white dresses during the spring and summer to take to our family vacation in Seaside, Florida. This will definitely be coming along!

Happiest Monday, y’all! This morning, I’m writing you from a place I have never, eeevvveeerrr come close to being before. If you saw my Instagram from yesterday, you already know! I’m in ASIA!

I am just fall over on my face excited to be here with a company I absolutely adore and support, The Starfish Project. If you aren’t familiar with the incredible work they do (or the gorgeous jewelry they make!) take a second to click HERE so you’re up to speed! Trust me, it will be time well spent.

While I can’t disclose exactly where in Asia I am for the safety of the women at the Starfish Project, I’m excited to share photos and stories with y’all! So be sure to follow along on Instagram to stay up to date.

Now for the less exciting, but super cute second part of today’s post… this white off the shoulder ruffled dress! I am in love with how elegant of a statement the exaggerated ruffle neckline gives this frock. Perfect for Easter, bridal showers and parties galore! (You’ve heard me say this before… I love stocking up on white dresses during the spring and summer to take to our family vacation in Seaside, Florida. Nothing looks as beautiful in photos as white with the sea in the background!)

I also am still loving these blue ombre tassel earrings I purchased a few weeks back. Normally I only wear statement earrings a few times (because they’re, well, statements) but I can honestly say these have already seen so much use. Favorite accessory of the year thus far!

I hope each of you had a fun weekend! Mine was a whirlwind, and the good part about it was a was exhausted enough to sleep on the 12 hour plane ride. :) Glass half full!

Love from Texas,

Kate

latest & greatest no. 26

Today’s roundup of the cutest new arrivals to hit the web surprisingly took on a muted color palette. Normally I advise sunglasses for how bright and colorful these are, but I have to say, I don’t hate the change of pace this week! Wishing there was such a thing as 30 minute delivery so I could wear this top to dinner tonight!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy to see Friday roll around, y’all! This week has been crazy. One which, luckily for me, included my hard drive crashing righttt as I was putting the finishing touches on my San Miguel vlog. Womp womp. (It will be coming soon, promise!)

But the fabulous news, is this day is officially the light at the end of the tunnel! From here on out, it’s all sorts of fun, starting with the cowboy coming in town this evening, one of my best friend’s weddings tomorrow evening, and then the adventure I mentioned in yesterday’s post on Sunday! Whew! I’m exhausted just typing that out, which means the least I can do is get a goooood nights sleep tonight.

I’ll try my best to update my Insta story this weekend, there’s so much I want to bring y’all along for!

tassel off the shoulder dress

Let’s be real… even though they may look the most “put together” out of the bunch, dresses take the cake over all other ensembles when it comes to comfort! That’s why whenever spring rolls around, I keep my eyes peeled for easy, hassle-free frocks that keep me looking collected without a lot of effort. It’s amazing how quickly I reach for them… oftentimes they are even easier than athleisure! (I know, I just said it. But it’s true! Leggings, you’ve got competition..)

This tasseled off the shoulder dress from ASOS was a no brainer. The colorful tassel sleeves, the roomy cut (i.e. no spanx needed) and $31 price tag had me even before hello. In fact, I loved it so much that I also bought it in this all-white version as well!

For all you vertically-blessed ladies out there, do be aware that this is a “petite” style. The all-white, red and black styles are offered in regular, though, but hurry! Sizes are selling out quick!

And since ASOS can get tricky with sizing, I ordered a 4 petite in the multi-colored and a 2 regular in the all-white. The difference? The 2 regular was about 2″ longer than the 4 petite!

I am going to be the busiest of bees today, as I’m preparing not only for a super fun weekend, but an incredible next week abroad as well! One of my best friends from college, Leigh, is getting married this weekend (!!!) and the cowboy is flying in for the celebrations tomorrow afternoon. Then, I’m headed on the biggest adventure of my entire life (not even exaggerating) first thing Sunday morning! This has been one of those “no coming up for air” weeks, but I know it will all be worth it! :) (Now, will someone please deliver me fresh Starbucks iced lattes in 20 minute intervals?)

Love from Texas,

Kate

P.S. How fun are the shoes I’m wearing in today’s post? I purchased these while in San Miguel, Mexico for about thirty US dollars! I’ve found similar styles here and here, but am on the hunt for a closer match for y’all!

If you’re anything like me, you looked at this post and thought to yourself “Easter?! Isn’t that like a million years away?”

Same, girl. I had no idea it was so soon until I looked at my April calendar earlier this week! ‘Tis true, Easter is right around the corner… April 16th to be exact. Not to fret, though, because today I’m sharing 20 easter dress ideas with plenty of time to spare… no rush shipping here!

I broke up today’s guide into a few categories depending on the look you’re going for. When it comes to this holiday, I opt for bright, happy colors in classic, feminine silhouettes. You’ll see each piece above embodies that mindset. Lots of happy color (or crisp whites) in lovely shapes.

I haven’t decided on my Easter dress yet, but am so tempted by this little number! Which are you most drawn to?

Kate
