self tanner try-out video

Hey, friends! If you follow along on Snapchat (my username is LonestarSnaps) you may have caught the quick self tanner tryout I did a few weeks ago! Now that I’ve got a few more weeks of use under my belt, I thought I’d put together a “SnapChat Series” video compilation showing you my first try, and the tips and tricks I’ve developed as I’ve continued using it.

If you’re like me, self tanner freaks. you. out. I was so afraid of looking like an Oompa Loompa… and smelling like one, too! (I have no idea how Oompa Loompas smell, but I’d imagine it’s not pleasant.) I conquered my fears, and ended up having a great experience with this Rodan + Fields sunless tanner. Goes on easily, and gives you beautiful color for about a week! I’m now officially hooked.

If you have any sunless tanners you love or hate, or any other tips and tricks for applying, let me know! Hope you enjoy the video. :)

Enjoy your Thursday! And don’t forget about the incredible sale going on that I covered yesterday. I am giddy to have picked up these beauties and this unbelievably gorgeous dress at a steal!

Love from Texas,

Kate

  2. You look amazing, but I am still afraid to put to much chemical and cover myself with it in a lot of quantity and frequently.

Wow, the results after one use looked amazing! Kate, how long does the tan usually last? I know you said you redo the tan every Thursday, but does the color last about a week?

Hi Olivia! Yes, I’d say the color lasts about a week. It is definitely stinger the first 3-4 days and begins to fade gradually 5-7, but still maintains a lovely glow. Hope that helps!

    • HI Olivia, one of the best ways to have your tan last longer is to use a good exfoliator prior to applying the tanner. I’m offering a self tanner and face/body scrub package for Kate’s readers! You can always order the tanner directly from the link but if you contact me directly I can help you save on shipping prior to you placing your order. If you are interested send me your email and I’ll get in touch with you!

Hey! Just got this in the mail! So excited to try it–when you put the lotion on do you wait til your body part is dry or just use the lotion straight after using the sunless tanner?

I’m so excited for you, Katlyn! Nope, I don’t wait. Right after I apply, I go ahead and rub the lotion in over the sunless tanner! You’re gonna love this stuff :)

Hi Kate! This product looks amazing and I definitely want to give it a try but my one concern is that I sleep on white sheets and I’m worried about it rubbing off on my sheets. I’ve always heard horror stories of self tanner leaving stains on fabric (sofas, sheets, etc.), so my question is, have you noticed this happening at all?

    Thank you! :)
