Surprise, friends!!! And welcome to the newly-designed Lonestar Southern!

Wow. Will someone pinch me? This is a moment that has seriously been in the works for over a year. For those of you who’ve been around here since the early days, you may remember just how long I kept that free blog template with the poorly-pixilated pink and orange ikat background I screen grabbed from Google. (Oh yes… I legitimately drag-and-dropped this very image into my background.)

If we want to get technical, I kept that same layout for over two years. Then, exactly a year ago, the blog went through a little, much-needed facelift. But friends… This is the big kahuna. The real deal. The creme de la creme. Truly a project I’ve been dreaming about for over two and a half years! And today I am thrilled to see it finally come to life. Isn’t it just b-e-a-utiful?!

Go ahead, take a look around! Do keep in mind that since this overhaul is so major, there are probably a few little glitches here and there that need to be ironed out. If you find any, do leave a comment! With a team effort, I know we can get this up to perfection in no time. As I further-familiarize myself with this new layout over the next week or two, expect this space to look better and better!

I want to give a huge shout out to my fabulous designer, Victoria McGinley, for making my detailed and incredibly specific vision an even better reality than I could have pictured. She, along with developer-extraordinaire Lisa Butler, were so diligent, patient, and creatively brilliant in making this come to life.

I also want to thank you, loveliest reader (oh how I wish I could call you all by name!), for following along on this journey of mine! It is each of you who inspire and drive everything I do here. I could never have dreamed while sitting in my public relations class my sophomore year of college that the class assignment I’d just been handed would one day turn out to be both my career and one of my greatest joys!

Seriously. You mean the world.

Ok, ok, ok. Enough with the blabby emotional stuff. (Which I’m quite proficient in, might I add.) I have a second bit of news for you today, and that is that I’ve posted a new YouTube video! Hooray!

I hope everyone is getting excited for tomorrow! I know I am… my sister is in town and there’s nothing quite like getting my crazy family (dog included) all under the same roof! We’ll spend today in the kitchen, tomorrow eating, and Friday doing some Black Friday shopping from the comfort of our pjs!
