To me, the arrival of spring always manages to usher in an “out with the old, in with the new” mindset. I end up refreshing everything from my wardrobe to hair products to the way I arrange my room! Something about starting fresh seems so fitting with the season, and after being in a bit of a “makeup rut,” I decided to stop by the Charlotte Tilbury counter at the Nordstrom at Northpark Mall (my second home) in search of something fun and new.
I’ve been around the block, so to speak, when it comes to beauty lines… starting out with a lot of MAC products, then moving to Bobbi Brown for a bit before falling in love with Laura Mercier. Something I’ve always felt comfortable doing is opting for lines and products that help your skin, even if the price tag is higher than your typical drug store find. When it comes to what you’re putting on your face, it’s worth it to make the investment.
So here I was, in yet another “makeup rut.” And a line I hadn’t tried but had heard lots and lots of buzz about? Charlotte Tilbury. So yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to meet Jodi, the Central and East Coast Regional Artistry & Development Manager, who quickly showed me just what I’ve been missing out on!
(the before)Y’all… when I say it’s unlike anything I’ve ever tried, I’m shooting you straight. I loved the way Jodi put it when she described the Charlotte Tilbury line to me as having “the wearability of Bobbi Brown, giftability of Jo Malone, and luxury of Tom Ford.” Each product she used not only looked stunning in the bottle, but felt even more incredible on! Many of the products are used by celebs (apparently Harry Styles loves the magic cream) and I can see why. They’re the real deal.
One of my favorite facets of the line is that it’s centralized around 10 looks Charlotte has actually created in her career as a celebrity makeup artist. Jodi and I selected “Uptown Girl” for me – a classic, polished and girly look with a pop of glam.
Before applying the look, Jodi walked me through the Tilbury skin care regime. We started with a clay mask before applying my absolute favorite, the Magic Cream! Y’all… I want to take a very expensive bath in this stuff.
And I have to tell y’all about my very favorite product that Jodi introduced me to… the Supermodel Body. I was terrified to try this stuff out (visions of orange streaks were racing through my head) but I actually gasped when I saw it on my arms. It’s a lotion-like substance that visually illuminates and elongates your limbs with the most beautiful, subtle sheen. Jodi explained it was developed for angels in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and I 100% see why! A fun splurge for summer, y’all.
The skincare prep left my face feeling incredibly smooth and moisturized, and it even brought out a beautiful glow that I’ve never been able to achieve on my own. Then, it was on to the magic of the “Uptown Girl” kit.
This look turned out to be “me” to a tee… I loved the femininity and polish of it! My favorite part? Charlotte has a line of “how to” videos explaining how to use just about everything in her line, including how to apply the “Uptown Girl” look step by step. So all of the guesswork is taken out of the equation for us girls who have trouble getting the same look back at home.
Products I Used:
Goddess Clay Mask | Miracle Cream | Wonderglow (Jodi described this as “your own Instagram filter,” love it!) | Magic Foundation | The Retoucher | Uptown Girl
Nordstrom at Northpark Mall is the only retailer to carry Charlotte Tilbury in the Dallas area, so if there’s one thing I could encourage you DTown ladies to do, it would be to head there and try it out for yourself! Plus, it’s TRIPLE POINTS right now until March 26th! Even more of a reason to add some new spring products to your routine.
I had the most incredible afternoon learning about the line, and meeting some of the faces of the team. Thank you to Jodi, Vanessa and the rest of the Nordstrom at Northpark Mall crew for introducing me to my spring beauty routine. I am so excited about it, and hope y’all get the chance to try it out soon!
Love from Texas,
