wandering d.c. in the perfect wrap coat

As many of you know, I had the huge treat of spending the past week in Washington, D.C. Since temperatures down here in Texas have continued to be groggy and hot, heading up north proved to be just the breath of fresh fall air I’ve been craving! It was the city’s first taste of autumn, and it seemed like everywhere you looked, people were outside enjoying the cool weather.

I was nearly giddy to finally have a reason to pull out this gorgeous plaid wrap coat, and am so excited to be partnering with Modcloth in sharing more about their fabulous outerwear collection.

When it comes to investing in a piece of outerwear, there are a few things to consider… primarily, fit, versatility and quality. This beauty checks all of those boxes off perfectly.

One thing that I love about Modcloth is the array of sizes they carry. It seems I always have trouble finding pieces that are short/small enough, and the XXS fit my 5’2″ frame perfectly. Sizes in this coat also extend to a 4X!

Next up, let’s talk about versatility. Since a great piece of outerwear is one you’ll be wearing on repeat, ensuring its one you can wear with a variety of looks is essential. The rich navy of this wrap coat makes it a no-brainer with denim, but also with blacks, navies, reds and golds as well.

Finally, you can have the perfectly-fitting and most versatile coat of them all, but if it’s not high-quality, odds are you won’t be able to get a full season’s wear out of it. That’s why I adore this coat… not only is the tailoring impeccable, but it is so soft. The price point sits at $140, and I think it’s worth every penny!

If you’re on the hunt for some darling outerwear this season, be sure to check out Modcloth’s full selection here! (I’m eyeing this Jackie-O inspired coat.) ‘Tis the season to bundle up, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!

Love from Texas,

Kate

Your trip to D.C. sounds absolutely dreamy! There’s something so refreshing about escaping Texas heat and finally getting that first real taste of fall. I love how you captured the feeling of everyone soaking up the crisp air — it makes me want to plan my own little getaway. During travel downtime, I sometimes unwind with small online games like this love tester unblocked, just something fun for the quiet moments between exploring.

As you advance, levels introduce tighter gaps, faster object placements, spikes, and unbreakable obstacles in slice master. Beating these challenges requires patience, rhythm, and knowing when to take calculated risks for higher scores. Practicing the timing nuances and learning each stage’s pacing yields the best results.
