wedding wednesday no. 22 // bachelorette weekend recap no. 1

As I sit here typing this, I’m in a state of disbelief that my bachelorette weekend, one I have been looking forward to for so long, actually, truly, really happened!

I have to confess… after months of planning and anticipation with the Lilly Pulitzer team, it’s a bit bittersweet being on the other side of it. I’m sitting here wondering “Why we don’t do it every weekend?” Would anyone want to join me for round 2? :)

Since we call can’t call in sick and jump on a plane to Watercolor, Florida today, I figured I’d do the next best thing… walk you through the entire weekend – from the second we landed in sunny Florida to all the shenanigans that happened while we were there. A bachelorette weekend recap, if you will!

I have a feeling this post may get long (really though, who’s surprised?) so in the interest of everyone’s time, I’m going to break up the weekend festivities into a few different posts. Today, I’ll be covering a general recap of Wednesday and Thursday. What we did, where we ate, and all the fun we had along the way!

You may remember some extra special activities the Lilly Pulitzer team planned for us on Friday (ahem… watercolor cookie class, build your own mojito bar and a sunset dinner to name a few) and I plan to cover those each in extra detail soon!

Sound good? Let’s jump in!

Wednesday

Check-in at our gorgeous home in Watercolor, One In a Vermillion, wasn’t until Thursday afternoon, so my sister Steele and I decided to head down a day early for some fun one-on-one time before all the craziness started! If you remember, my family and I go to Seaside (the immediate nextdoor neighbor of Watercolor) every summer, so it’s a really special place for us.

After a spray tan (I get the Versa Clear + Light every time), an easy flight and a quick road trip filled with plenty of Beyonce, Dixie Chicks, and Britney Spears, we made it to our adorable AirBnB. We quickly changed and headed to one of our favorite spots, the rooftop of Bud & Alley’s, for lunch and a glass of frozen rosé!

It was such a gorgeous day, we’re talking 75 degrees with a cool breeze and sunny sky, that we decided to walk around Seaside for a bit before heading home to rest up and get ready for dinner. (Can you tell eating was a large part of our day? Ha!)

Steele and I have been dying to try Pescado ever since our friend Elisabeth recommended it to us last summer. Sure enough, it did not disappoint! We got a spot out on the porch, watched the sun go down over the water, and enjoyed what may just be the most amazing meal we’ve ever had! Three words. Tempura. Friend. Lobster.

Then, we drove back to our Airbnb to rest up for the big day!

THURSDAY

Thursday! The day everyone arrived!

Steele and I got up early to shoot some photos at the beach, and treated ourselves to a Frostbite’s snow cone. My favorite order? A coconut piggly wiggly! Which means ice cream on the bottom coconut-flavored frozen ice in the middle, and sweet cream drizzled on top. Oh, and topped off with a gummy pig, of course! To die for!

Before we knew it, it was time to head over to One in a Vermillion! We were absolutely giddy to see the home and hug the Lilly Pulitzer and Sanders Beach Rentals team. You couldn’t have wiped the grins off of our faces for anything!

We stepped inside, and I nearly fainted with excitement. The home was truly jawdropping. Picture whites, neutrals, tall ceilings and a back wall made out of windows that completely opened to the gorgeous patio! Oh… and Lilly Pulitzer touches everywhere.

If you want to see more, check out my Instagram Story Highlight “kateslastsplash” for a tour. I can’t wait to share more details on and photos of the gorgeous home soon! I could have stayed forever.

Also, I just have to mention that Sanders Beach Rentals, the amazing company who hosted us this past weekend, is offering a 10% discount on any of their properties with the code “BeachPlease”. Such an amazing offer, y’all!

Before I knew it, my friend Julie arrived! And then Camille! And finally the entire Dallas crew! We opened up a bottle of wine, stuffed ourselves with some delicious pizza from Brozinni’s, and opened the gorgeous gift bags that Lilly Pulitzer and Sanders Beach Rentals had put together for everyone. Then, we wwent to bed jittery with excitement for all the fun Lilly Pulitzer had planned for the next day.

Only a day and a half in, and I could already tell this was going to be the best weekend EVER. I hope this gives you a taste for our first couple of days on 30A, and I absolutely can’t wait to share more of the magic Lilly Pulitzer planned for us on Friday soon!

Before I sign off, I just wanted to thank y’all SO much for your kind words and excitement as you followed along this past weekend! Your messages, DMs and comments truly made me smile… I felt like y’all were there, too! Can’t wait to share more very soon!

Love from Texas,

Kate
