wedding photo reveal no. 3 // our reception

I can’t believe I’m saying this… but today is Andrew’s and my one year anniversary! What a year it’s been. Looking back on the past 365 days as Mrs. Bowman, I am so overwhelmed at the blessing, provision, and joy the Lord has filled our first year of marriage with. To put it plainly, it has been the best. And it’s been so fun sharing glimpses of our first year with you!

In celebration of hitting the one year mark, I thought it would be a fun opportunity to finally share our reception photos! To be quite honest, I had planned on sharing these much, much earlier, but in the blur of this first year (moving to Florida, Andrew starting residency, etc, etc) this post somehow never got published.

I could wax poetic about it (y’all know I love a long-winded blog post), but I think these images by John Cain Photography will give you a much better peek into just how magical of a night it was.

I hope you enjoy reliving this night with me!

I can’t round out this post without a huge thank you to everyone who made this night possible. My parents, each and every vendor, all of our wonderful friends and family. Oh… and my husband for giving us all a reason to celebrate!

Happy “Paper” anniversary Kate & Andrew!!! Just a few random thoughts …
    1) If you were able to save the top of your cake, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did ours in the peace and quiet of your beautiful new home. 2) You make the most adorable faces. You are so full of joy and love in these photos it simply oozes off the page. 3) I think you have the cutest parents on the planet. Mind you I love mine with all my heart (and tomorrow would have been their 64th) but they were not cute like yours.!! God Bless you Mr & Mrs Bowman!!

I find this post incredibly tacky given what is going on in our country right now. Not to mention all of the brides who cannot have their dream wedding right now due to the global pandemic.

    Kate,
Thank you for sharing! As a bride who had to postpone her wedding from October 2020 to June 2021, I’ve been pretty sad when I think about weddings. However, this post made me really excited and reminded me what weddings are really about: love and joy. This has really been such a bright spot in my day!
    Thank you again!

I think this post is incredibly ignorant right now. You posted on Instagram several days ago a really wonderful message of trying to redress the wrongs you may have unintentionally committed against POC. I was then disheartened to see you had posted this not only in the midst of what will likely be remembered as some of the very hardest days we have ever faced as a nation, but also AFTER you posted a message on Instagram that indicated you want to change your outlook on racism. I hope you stare long and hard at these photos. They are so beautiful, and you and Andrew deserve every happiness in the world. But when you spoke of your own privilege, look no further than these photos. Not only is there a lot of wealth and opulence, but there is not a SINGLE POC featured in any of the photos who is a friend (and not there to serve you and your guests). While they may certainly have attended your wedding, these photos are a reflection of who you are as an individual and the kinds of individuals with whom you have surrounded yourself.

Evidently, the most important individuals in your life are all wealthy and white. One only needs to look at these photos to see that.

In these days of crippling grief and agony, righteous anger, and untold wrongs waged against POC that have shaken our nation to its very core, may you find peace in beginning to really buckle down and do the hard work of bettering yourself.

What do you want her to do? Hide her wedding? Also, it is clear that Kate doesn’t post every single photo – the photos she posted here focus solely on her family and the bridal party. As to her wealth and opulence, Kate is the Dallas ‘It’ girl. She’s from the Park Cities area. She’s also a sweet person who works hard and worked hard for this wedding of hers. It is evident from your post that you are just jealous of Kate. As a woman of color, I take offense to you bashing this sweet girl’s wedding out of jealousy and hiding behind an honorable movement to do it.

Hi Kate! I’ve been wondering, will you ever share the little details of the reception such as, the song the two of you chose for your first dance, the cake flavor you went with, etc?

  16. A Bape hoodie refers to a hoodie produced by the Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, commonly abbreviated as Bape. Bape is known for its bold and distinctive designs, often featuring camouflage patterns, bright colors, and their iconic ape head logo. Bape hoodies are popular among streetwear enthusiasts and are often sought after for their unique aesthetic and high-quality construction. These hoodies can be quite expensive due to their brand cachet and limited availability, making them highly coveted items in the fashion world.
