j.crew fur vest | bayfield, wisconsin

Typically, the “first day of fall” for this Texas girl looks more like blasting the AC while cautiously sipping an obligatory #PSL in peace than enjoying any hint of a cool breeze or changing leaves. You see, for us southerners, any real sign of fall is far, far, farrr away. But the past week, friends, I got to escape from my heated reality to a place where fall is in full swing, and a J.crew fur vest is completely called for!

SHIRT   green plaid button-down   //   VEST   tan shearling vest   //   JEANS   j. crew toothpick jeans   //   BOOTIES   tan fringe booties (sold out, similar linked)   //   PURSE   blush reversible tote bag   //   WATCH   oversized gold watch   //   BRACELET   kendra scott cuff (sold out, similar linked)  //   RING   pearl crossover ring (sold out, similar linked)

For those of you following along on Instagram (@LonestarSouthern) you saw me pack up my bags and catch a flight up north to meet the cowboy and his grandparents in Wisconsin last Thursday! We spent a leisurely, wonderful few days doing absolutely nothing at all, and it was marvelous. Surrounded by a forest of deep reds, warm yellows and vibrant oranges with a sprawling (and otter-filled!) lake right out the window, I couldn’t help but feel like I had been transported smack in the middle of a post card scene. Picture perfect doesn’t begin to cover it!

On Friday, Andrew and I decided to venture into the little town of Bayfield, WI for a quick change of scenery. The weather was blustery and cool, and I couldn’t have been happier about it. I’d recently purchased this J.Crew fur vest and hoped an occasion would call for it on this trip. Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed! Paired with a green gingham button down and fringe booties, it was the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon of hand-holding, coffee-drinking and vintage-book-store-shopping.

Now that I’m back home, I’m already missing the beautiful fall hues and sweet faces the trip afforded me! Luckily, there’s an event today I’m absolutely giddy about attending and I can’t wait to share with y’all! Be sure you’re following along on Snapchat, my username is LonestarSnaps, for the first peek!

Love from Texas,

Kate
