sorority house room tour

If you browse a few posts back, you’ll find the room makeover I did with Pottery Barn Teen while I lived at home and interned this summer! Well, upon the start of this school year, I packed up and moved into the KKG house at the University of Texas at Austin. New room = new excuse to decorate (in my opinion), and I am so excited to walk you through my new little space with PBTeen! (Sixty, to be exact!) One thing you don’t have a lot of? Space. With a little help from PBTeen I was able to make the most of what I lovingly refer to as my “shoebox.”

I wanted my room to be a place I could escape to in order to relax and get work done in. With it’s clean, classic look and precious scallop trim, the Vienna bedding set that tone right away. Loving anything with a pom pom, I knew the pom pom throw would be a fun addition. What I didn’t know was that it would turn into my favorite possession! My room is always chilly, so the throw comes in handy all the time.

That’s why I typically camp out on my bed to crank out papers, answer emails, and complete reading assignments. This flip-out lap desk (that you can get monogrammed!) has been a lifesaver – it allows me to sit straight up (surprisingly more productive than laying down) and work on my laptop or read a textbook without slumping down and craning my neck. I can just hear my mom applauding me for good posture…sorority house, how to decorate a dorm room, preppy dorm room, cute dorm room decoration tips, cute dorm room decoration, interior design, southern dorm room, cute dorm room, pink lampNext, I clamped my shine-on clip light to the shelf right by my bed. It’s the perfect solution to late-night cramming while you’re roommate is asleep! I can’t get enough of its bubblegum pink shade. sorority house, how to decorate a dorm room, preppy dorm room, cute dorm room decoration tips, cute dorm room decoration, interior design, southern dorm room, cute dorm roomThe walls of my room are a bleak, pale yellow – not the most attractive. I decided to break up the boring hue and add my own personal touches with the Scallop Statement Pinboard! I have absolutely adored having this to pin pictures, concert tickets and art prints on. I love that you can completely change the look of your room by switching out different items to the board. I’m already on the lookout for what I’ll add next! sorority house, how to decorate a dorm room, preppy dorm room, cute dorm room decoration tips, cute dorm room decoration, interior design, southern dorm room, cute dorm room, evelyn hensonFor now, it’s decorated with a pink and orange tassel garland (also loving this one), a darling Evelyn Henson camel print, some cute monogrammed koozies, our KKG game day button, anchor and flamingo patterned cards by Amy Ruth Designs, and a retro UT penant. And a never ending to-do list for the most forgetful person in the world…=sorority house, how to decorate a dorm room, preppy dorm room, cute dorm room decoration tips, cute dorm room decoration, interior design, southern dorm room, cute dorm room, amy ruth designsWhile my room definitely isn’t spacious, it sure is cozy thanks to the help of PBTeen! And tons of fun thanks to the best roomie in the world, CA. :) With a few carefully selected pieces, I was able to make the most of the limited space while incorporating plenty of fun, color and personality. I wouldn’t want it any other way!sorority house, how to decorate a dorm room, preppy dorm room, cute dorm room decoration tips, cute dorm room decoration, interior design, southern dorm room, cute dorm roomOn my shelf:

Are you in a tight dorm room or sorority house? I’d love to hear how you’ve decorated it!

I saw your Nordstrom Anniversary Sale haul and you were adorable and I just knew you were in a sorority! I’m moving into my sorority house this fall and my roommate and I have been stuck with trying to find a theme for our room and yours is such a cute inspiration!
