On my trip to the mall the other day, I was shocked to see so many stores completely draped in fall inventory. Um hello… it’s still in the 100 degrees here! Before I could grab a frappuccino and storming out in protest, however, this dress caught my eye. The classic stripe was initially what got me, and then I got a closer look at the stunning appliqué detail. Quickly scooping up the last in my size, I didn’t even notice the sweetly positioned bow until I’d made it to the dressing room. And then can you guess how long it took me to decide “buy”? Yeah. Zero seconds.

It’s classic shape, deep navy and black scheme, and beautiful detailing immediately reminded me of French romance. For saying goodbye to these final summer weeks and transitioning into the cozy hues of autumn, I couldn’t think of a more suitable design. While I am in NO way plunging head first into fall style (I pinky swear I’ve still got plenty of bright, summery looks for you these next few weeks!), this little number had me saying “au revoir à julliet”, or “Goodbye, July”, with a smile on my face.

Love from Texas,

Kate

P.S. I am beyond flattered that Culture Map Austin included me in their lineup of 16 Austin bloggers. Squeel!!
