I’ve become quite canny at outsmarting the outrageously humid, hot weather good ole D-Town has been receiving lately. Good thing, too, because whenever an occasion calls for “cute,” the very last thing I want to try to schlep on is a pair of jeans! And while I love a good pair of white skinnies paired with a summery top during summer months, it is so nice to get a break with breezy silhouettes. My favorite way to do that? A dress or, in this case, romper!

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that I am very, very picky when it comes to rompers. In my opinion, they miss the mark all too often… either being too short, too tight, or awkwardly gappy in the back. I’ve found that the ticket is to find those with a billowy, loose fit.
I hit the jackpot in coming across this off the shoulder romper… it checks all of the boxes, while adding in a few other darling details as well! The drawstring allows for a perfect fit on any body type, and the loose legs provide an exceptionally flattering touch. I also love the summery, boho vibe the embroidered fabric gives the look. (And for you University of Texas girls, it will be perfect for football games this fall!)
And I have to throw in a shoutout to my new favorite shoe… this darling platform slingback! I purchased them recently, and have worn them non-stop ever since. They are truly a transitional style… I’ve worn them with everything from cocktail dresses to casual maxi dresses to the romper above. A must have, trust me!
I hope everyone had a lovely week! I watched my childhood best friend get married (we had dreamt of this day since 5th grade, y’all…) and had the best time reconnecting and dancing the night away with old friends from the past at the wedding. Needless to say, my happy tank is full and I’m ready to jump into the week ahead. I hope you’re feeling the same way as well!
Love from Texas,
