Once upon a time, there lived a very short girl. She, being all of 5’2″, had difficulty finding clothing that fit right. Dresses always seemed too long, jeans always seemed to well, weird, and it often took a ghastly amount of huffing and puffing and making multiple runs to the tailor to get something to fit justttt right. One day said girl, tired of the constant struggle and rather enchanted by a few darling things she saw in a window, stepped into…. Crew Cuts. And came out with this dress.
Y’all. I know! A kids dress? It’s true. (Hands covering eyes.) I first came across the gorgeous tweed of the dress in the women’s section of J.Crew just a couple of weeks ago. It was fashioned into a skirt, a beautifully detailed blazer, and even some drool-worthy tasseled loafers! Needless to say, I instantly fell in love. Imagine my sheer joy, then, when I came across the tweed (named Saddle Berry Apricot) in this Crew Cut’s dress! Crossing my fingers, I grabbed a size 16 and ran to the dressing room. Safe to say it’s now my new fall dress! If you’re rolling your eyes with the good fortune of having a few inches on me, you can still get the same effect in the pieces below.
Other fun news? ShopBop‘s friends & family sale went live this morning! That means 25% off site wide. HELLO. My favorite part? If you missed the boat on the Tory Burch sale last week, you get a second chance! Snatch up my Marlene riding boots or this knockout red cutie in a somewhat-more-wallet-friendly way. :) That’s not all that’s up for grabs – I’m eyeing this party frockfor me and the boy’s 3 year anniversary this weekend! Thoughts?
Love from Texas,
P.S. AHHHHHHHHH! THE BOY MADE IT TO THE FINAL ROUND IN THE RYAN SEACREST COMPETITION! So sorry for the all caps, but it was 100% warranted in my opinion because he is SO close! Every single one of y’alls votes means the absolute world to me, and I can’t thank you enough! Let’s get him to the top. You can VOTE HERE (so quick and easy) every 12 hours all week! I’m that girlfriend that has an alarm set on her phone… no shame. (I pinky promise after the winner is announced you won’t hear any more about this! Thanks for putting up with my excessive excitement.) Seriously, can’t thank y’all enough. Will let you know what happens next Monday!
