wedding wednesday no. 26 // 1 month until june!

I can’t believe I’m typing this, y’all, but JUNE IS OFFICIALLY ONE MONTH AWAY! And we’ve got the license to wed to prove it. :)

If this is your first time visiting my Wedding Wednesday series, welcome! To catch you up, my fiancé and I are getting married this June. While we’re keeping the exact date private (more on that here) I’m absolutely giddy to share all of the fun with you right after!

It feels like just yesterday I posted a Wedding Wednesday about reaching “6 months until June.” Looking at that planning update is such a throwback. This process has been a whirlwind, y’all, and I can’t believe how much we’ve accomplished in these past 5 months!

Today, to kick off the one-month-to-June countdown, I thought it would be fun to share the top 5 things I have left on my to-do list now that we’re nearing the finish line. I’m thrilled to be partnering with WeddingWire, a resource I’ve used since day one, for this post!

create seating chart

One thing I haven’t shared about our reception yet is that Andrew and I will be having a seated dinner! This is one element of our night that I am so excited about, as I love how smoothly the night flows and how romantic the ambiance is when each guest has a designated table and can sit and enjoy the meal all at the same time.

The challenge with this type of arrangement? Creating a seating chart! I am so thankful for this tool that my favorite wedding resource, WeddingWire, has created. The Seating Chart tool allows you to add virtual tables and customize them to their exact size and guest count to mimic your exact layout.

Here’s where it gets even cooler. You can then import a spreadsheet of your guests through the WeddingWire Guest List tool, then drag and drop each guest into a virtual seat! The Guest List tool also lets you categorize guests into groups like “Andrew’s Co-Workers” or “Kate’s Family” so that you can see how everyone is dispersed and make sure no one is left behind.

Finally, the Seating Chart tool let’s you see both a chart of the tables as well as a list of the tables… so handy when it comes to creating an escort card display!

Take it from me, this is the easiest and most efficient way to organize guests and create a seating chart, and has made what at first seemed like an arduous task a true breeze! Remember, creating an account and using WeddingWire tools is completely free. Start yours here!

order reception goodies

Now that so many big-picture pieces of the wedding have come together, it’s time to order all of the smaller details that I’m enhancing our reception with! I’ve been designing frosted cups, monogrammed cocktail napkins, party favor gift tags and more using For Your Party. It has been so fun dreaming these little details up and seeing them come to life!

I’m also needing to order dance floor props, and would love to hear what items have been your favorite at recent weddings! There are so many options out there, from light up batons to confetti, that it’s hard to know where to even start!

no. 3

plan day-of details

One bit of advice a wedding vendor gave me was to think through how I envision the “day of” running before the wedding begins. For example, what type of music do I want to be listening to while I get ready? Is there a certain type of breakfast I’ll want the morning-of? Will my bridesmaids and I want an afternoon caffeine fix? What about a certain candle scent that would create a relaxing environment?

I loved this advice, and am planning on making a “get ready” playlist (filled with everything from Frank Sinatra to the Dixie Chicks), figuring out snacks and beverages and thinking through all other little details to ensure the day leading up to the ceremony and reception is perfect!

finalize wardrobe

While most pieces of my wedding-week wardrobe have been finalized (wedding dress, veil, wedding shoes, rehearsal dinner dress, rehearsal dinner shoes, rehearsal dinner earrings) there are still a few pieces I need to nail down before it’s too late!

Here are the items I’m on the hunt for, and am hoping to decide on in this next week or two:

 Bridesmaid Luncheon Dress
 Bridesmaid Luncheon Shoes
 Wedding Day Earrings
 Wedding Day Clutch
 Wedding Day Reception Shoes (I plan on having a comfortable pair on hand if my heels start hurting!)

no. 5

decide on music

This is one “to do” I am so excited about! Our goal is to finalize our first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance and figure out the music we definitely do and do not want to be played at our reception this week. There are worse things that thinking through all of your favorite party songs! :)

For my birthday, Andrew gave me three dance lessons and I am a little too excited about it. We’re not wanting anything super-choreographed, but are definitely looking forward to learning some new twists, turns, and tips to incorporate into our time on the floor!

There ya have it, friends! The top 5 things on my to-do list now that we’re a month out from wedding month! There are still lots of other little details that need to happen between now and the big day, but for the first time, I can genuinely say it’s all finally coming together! Someone pinch me!

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m so thankful to WeddingWire for being a part of this Wedding Wednesday series. Their tools have been a life-saver throughout this entire process, start to finish, from creating our wedding registry to finding vendors and so much more! I can’t recommend them enough if you’re a bride! You can check out my favorites here!

As always, thank you thank you thank you for taking time out of your day to catch up with this season of my life. It means the world to get to share it with you!

Love from Texas,

Kate

My Dad gave my Mom a new perfume the day before their wedding; she’s repurchased it several times over the years, and it always takes her back to that day!

When it comes to thinking about music, I think brides often consider about whether they like songs like the Cupid Shuffle to play or not. One thing I really thought about was the messages of the songs once the ‘party’ started — and had our DJ take off any songs that I don’t mind hearing on the radio, but actually had messages of breakups or hookups!
