I’ll say it a million times. Once Christmas is over, I adamantly believe all cold, gloomy weather should disappear as well. The ironic thing about Texas is that whenever you want cold weather (for Thanksgiving, perhaps, or so that you can turn on the fireplace on Christmas morning… too much to ask for?) temperatures stay nice and toasty. It’s only after tacky Christmas sweaters get thrown into storage and you’re really ready for a tan that the biting cold makes an entrance. And that, folks, is what I’ve been in all week.

Instead of running around outside taking the blog pictures that should have been up all week, the weatherman chose not to consult my schedule and has trapped me indoors, left only to my own devices and Netflix for entertainment. The agony. Not the worst fate, albeit, but one that has nonetheless resulted in plenty of daydreams of warmer days. Warmer days filled with sundresses, popsicles, budding parks filled with frolicking children, Kate Spade’s new swim line, working off my Christmas break diet to fit into Kate Spade’s new swim line… and then it struck me!

VALENTINE’S DAY IS ONLY A MONTH AWAY. Normally, I don’t give the day half the credit it’s due, but the realization finally gave me an excuse to divert my attention from all things frostbitten to all things red, pink and lovely. So here I am, endless mouse clicks later, helping you do the same. I hope these pretties put a little spring in your step this week!
