The Cozied Collegiate

It’s that time of year! My perpetual tummy ache from Thanksgiving has started to wear off, “LAST DAY OF THE SEMESTER” is scribbled on this Friday in my planner (dear professors who make finals optional, I adore you), and I get to cozy up in anticipation of Christmas in snuggly outfits like this…

There’s something about hunkering down in scarves and coats and blankets when the weather gets frosty. It goes hand in hand with all sorts of other wonderful things like peppermint mochas, Harry Potter movie marathons, scented candles and new gift wrapping paper.

And that’s why it’s fair to say I’ll be getting plenty of use out of my new favorite Longhorn Fashions sweater this season..

It’s one of those quality, classic pieces that will occupy a spot in your dresser for years to come. I’m almost afraid I’ll show up to pick up my kids in the carpool line in this exact same thing 15 years from now, when riding boots are a thing of the past (heaven forbid!) and leggings are the new Crocs. But you know what… worse things have probably happened. And at least the sweater will still be precious.

For now I’m quite happy to be labeled an “outfit repeater”, because what else can you do with an ensemble that feels like pajamas? These furry friends I met seemed to agree! (And promised not to judge on the whole outfit repeating thing. What cuties.)

Not in Austin, but craving your own? Head over to Longhorn Fashions to order online and to check out more of this adorable boutique! Hope all of you are staying toasty and warm!

(And ps, no judgement if you are still rocking Crocs. I definitely still have a bright purple pair laying around somewhere…)

Love from Texas,

Kate

I literally LIVE for fall just because I can wear as much burnt orange as I want and just be labeled “festive” instead of “crazy-longhorn-lady.” So this sweater definitely had me at hello! Comfy and cozy is the best combo – they can judge all they want!

Good luck with last week of classes and finals, sweet girl! :)

  7. Hi Kate,

I was reading your blog and I came across an orange Turkish Scarf that you got from Harriet Ann Creative. I inquired about getting a scarf myself but have realized it is a towel! How do you wear this as a scarf? Exactly how big is it and how bulky does it look on? I wanted to ask you first before I went ahead and bought it. It does look cute as a scarf but wanted to make sure it can for sure pass as one, rather than a towel. If you would be able to get back to me I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you!
