When the hot summer months of June, July, and August arrive, I immediately find myself in one of two scenarios… the squelching, golden desert landscape (aka any given day in Texas) or the breezy, tropical beachside (aka my getaways to the lake or even better, Seaside!) Summer always to hang in the balance between these two types of days, and as hot as they can be, I absolutely love both.

It’s safe to say that Modcloth, a destination I absolutely love for finding gorgeous, unique pieces, has stunning dresses for both settings, and whatever other scene you find yourself in this summer! How gorgeous is this golden midi dress? With its fluttering hemline and gorgeous floral print, it creates the perfect look for a late summers-eve dinner with friends. The yellows, reds, and oranges used throughout remind me of summer sunsets and all the fun that comes with them!

On the other hand, I’m loving the effortless tropical whimsy of this blue halter dress. Can’t you just see it by the poolside with a cocktail in hand? The tied halter top adds the cutest touch to this festive frock!
