spontaneous trip reveal + memorial day sales

Happy Saturday, friends!
Today is a rather fun post… I’m sharing some spur of the moment travel plans (I leave this Wednesday, eek!) and giving you the deets on all of the best memorial day sales happening this weekend! And all on a Saturday too… yippe!
I’ll be taking it slow this weekend and getting ahead on all of the work and last-minute details needed before Wednesday! If you have any recommendations, I’d love for you to leave them in the comment section below. (Y’all killed it with the Spain recommendations… I read every one and used so many!)
Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Summer’s here!

If you’re going to Norway, do the “Norway in a nutshell” tour! It’s a whole day, but SO worth it. Best tour I’ve ever booked in my life.

My cousin’s husband is from Denmark and they have lived here for awhile (she’s from Mexico/US) so whatever recommendations you need, I can ask! I need to do what you did to plan my very very late honeymoon. It’s hard planning European trips

5 packing tips from an avid traveler:
    1. Match everything. I usually pick a color that winds through my whole packed wardrobe. Then I know everything will match and I don’t have to worry about winding up with two items that don’t match towards the end of the trip.
    2. Pack bright accessories. Scarves are my go-to accessory as I usually don’t change my jewelry very often, but whatever accessory you choose make it bright and fun, it pops off your wardrobe (that you have already so cleverly organized to be in the same color palette), and adds interest, especially if you are repeating clothing items. I will admit this also came in handy for me once when I got separated from my friends in a farmers market in Provence- my bright yellow scarf made me stand out in the crowd and they were able to catch me before i wandered too far!
    3. You only need 3 (or 4) pairs of shoes. This, again, goes with the matching everything you pack, but if you do this ideally 3 pairs of shoes should do the trick. 1 pair of walking shoes (sneakers, boots, whatever), 1 pair of nice shoes (for going out at night), and 1 pair of flip flops (for showering, pool, going down the hall for ice, etc). The 4th pair is slippers, because sometimes you just need a little comfort from home.
    4. If you are an over-packer, put everything out on the bed, then take out one item from each clothing category. So if you have 3 pairs of jeans, take one away and only pack 2. If you packed correctly you will have worn every item in your suitcase at least once if not more than once.
    5. Pack underwear for 1.5x the length of time you are away. Gone 10 days? Pack 15 pairs of underwear. Alternatively, if you are gone for an extended trip (like more days than underwear you own), I always pack laundry detergent in a travel sized bottle for any sink-laundry needs. It also comes in handy if you find yourself in a pinch with a pesky stain.

    hope that helps, bon voyage!
