cherry stripes

From the looks of it… I think Mr. Groundhog is onto something with his “spring is coming early” prediction! And boy, I am not complaining. Yesterday was the most beautiful day in Dallas. And while we’re still smack dab in the middle of February as opposed to April, I quote Miss Congeniality in describing it as “not too hot, not too cold… all you need is a light jacket!”

TOP   red striped sweatshirt (wearing a S Petite)   |   CARDIGAN   vineyard vines waterfall cardigan (on sale!) c/o   |   WEDGES   faux-wood wedges (similar to this $100 pair)   |   BAG   chloe drew crossbody dupe (looks like this $2000 one, but just $40!)   |   JEANS   j.crew toothpick jeans   |   EARRINGS   pearl studs   |   WATCH   michael kors watch   |   HAT   cream felted fedora (old Lack of Color, similar linked)   |   LIP COLOR   lipstick in ‘cherry blossom’ + gloss in ‘scandal’

I love every detail of this casual but completely classic look, starting with the timeless red striped top! I’ve owned this sweatshirt for a little over a month now, and have gotten so much use out of it. It’s the easiest, most comfortable thing to throw on with jeans, and instantly makes a chic ensemble.

I bundled a beautiful Vineyard Vines cardigan over it, and kept accessories simple with tan wedges and crossbody. (My new obsession, as it looks just like this Celine style!) Swap out wedges for ballet flats, and switch out the hat for a high ponytail and you’ve got the perfect cozy, cute weekend outfit! Some friends and I are getting together for brunch and kickball this Saturday… thinking I should volunteer to be sideline cheerleader so I can stay in this all day?

Love from Texas,

Kate

  11. I have no idea why I always thought Dallas was a snowy winter state. Anyway, your look is amazing.
