While I am sorely bummed Christmas is over (thanking Santa for the copious amounts of candy to pull me through these dark days), I am thrilled that I still have nearly a month of winter break left. Not only that, but the remaining days are filled to the brim with all sorts of fun. Namely, I’m headed to Charlotte, NC this morning to visit the boy!!! This is one of my favorite trips each year for many reasons, starting with the fact that today is his birthday. (HBD Jeff!) But the excitement doesn’t stop there, as I’ll be ringing in the new year with him as well!

I’m diving headfirst into the cliche of decking out in sequins and fur for new years eve, and am having so much fun with it. While this look would be perfect for wishing 2014 adieu in Dallas, you can make a couple easy adjustments to make it cold weather-ready. I plan on adding sheer black tights for some extra warmth, and swapping the strappy sandals out for this gorgeous pair of black slingback booties I just got in the mail. I’m in looove with them! Aren’t occasions that afford the opportunity to glam up just the best? I would love to hear what you’re planning on wearing to celebrate the new year in!
