latest & greatest vol. 84

We’ve made it to Labor Day weekend! I have been looking forward to this day all week long, and even though Andrew and I won’t be taking a spontaneous trip after all (thank you, Hurricane Dorian) I am so excited for lots of down time to cozy up and enjoy the weekend here in our new city!

Today’s roundup of the cutest new arrivals to hit the web includes lots of great, neutral pieces that work for whatever weather you’re currently in. Perhaps with the exception of this gorgeous cape… such a splurge, but I couldn’t help myself!

I hope you enjoy! Don’t forget to click directly on an image to shop.

Here are a few other new arrivals I’m loving this week!

It’s still blue skies and sunshine today, so I’m hoping to photograph a few looks for y’all before the deluge hits! Gainesville has been crazy these past few days… water sold out in most grocery stores, gas stations out of gas, exactly what you’d expect for a town in hurricane-prep mode.

This is the first hurricane I will have ever experienced… and I have to admit, I’m a little nervous! Not for my safety, necessarily (we’re all stocked up on the essentials) but more of all the unknowns. When will it hit? How bad will it actually be? Will we lose power… and if so, for how long?

It’s moments like these that I’m so grateful for the Lord’s promise to be with me ALWAYS. Matthew 28:20. So we’re going to remain positive, eat all the hurricane snacks, and snuggle the puppy we’re watching for the weekend (more on my IG stories) while we weather this first storm! Praying for everyone who will be affected by Dorian, and for all of you during whatever plans you have for the weekend!

Love from the Sunshine (soon to be very, very rainy) State,

Kate

From a native Floridian (on the coast) who’s experienced tons of storms, don’t worry about it too much! You sound like you’re all set with books and snacks :) Luckily, you’re not near the coast and live in a good city where things like power should be restored quickly if lost. Hope y’all have a fun and safe weekend.

    Kate,
Make sure you have cash on hand. During Harvey in Houston, there was no electricity and the ATM’s were under water. And the gas stations took cash only. Same thing with grocery stores. Our relatives houses were flooded and two years later the insurance companies are still processing claims. I hope Dorian loses strength or doesn’t hit Gainesville but it pays to be prepared.
