Happy, happy Friday friends! I don’t know about you but this week has been a long one… I have felt so drained and energy-less every day. Needless to say, I’m thrilled the weekend is finally here. Let’s jump right into this week’s roundup of the cutest new arrivals to hit the web this week!

I’m certainly on a pink kick as of late (when am I not though…) and found so many fun pieces in that hue this week. Let’s talk about those bow sandals, shall we? Could they be more perfect?

I’m also loving the little gift ideas I’ve found for Valentine’s day. How about this cute sunglasses case that says “shine bright” for just $9? Or these darling heart socks?! And if you’re hosting a party for VDay, be sure you include these too-cute balloons in your decor.

Speaking of Valentine’s day, don’t forget that I wore this scalloped dress from Modcloth in this post. It would be perfect for the occasion!

Circling back to what I said earlier about being tired… I’m starting to think it’s an iron deficiency. I’ve just never, ever felt this way before! That being said, do any of you take iron supplements? I’d love to hear any insight you have! Trying to get this all sorted out so I’m back to being 100% in no time.

I adore y’all, and am wishing you the best weekend ever! My sister is coming into town to celebrate her birthday today, so I couldn’t be happier. See y’all back around here on Monday!

Love from Texas,

Kate

    Hey Kate!

I’m in medical school and what they really stress to us is if you are concerned about an iron deficiency or have been feeling extra-out-of-the-norm tired of late, head to your doctor! We can help figure out what may be going on with you and find a solution. Being tired can be a sign of many things – iron/B vitamin deficiency, stress, not sleeping soundly when you are sleeping, a caffeine dependancy, as well as other more serious things such as hypothyroidism.

I take a daily multivitamin that has iron and B-vitamins to make sure I am always getting my recommended daily values but I also try to *eat* as many of my vitamins and minerals as possible since they are better absorbed when they come from food.

Lastly, make sure your sleeping patterns are regular. Going to bed later, waking up earlier, having caffeine after 2:00 pm, using electronics before bed, or being stressed can all lead to feeling tired and decreased sleep efficiency.

Hopefully, this helps and sorry for the length!!

Hi Kate, I just started taking Ritual multivitamins and I’m loving them! They contain iron in an easily absorbed form that doesn’t give you a stomach ache (a common issue with iron supplements). They come with this little tab of mint essential oil so they smell amazing and are easy to pop right after you brush your teeth. They also look cool which is nice for you since you’re a blogger! They’re a little more expensive than my old gummy multivitamins but they leave out the bad stuff (food coloring etc.) and pack in more of the good stuff that I actually need (my old ones didn’t have any iron at all, and the b12 was not in a bioavailable form so I had to take another b12 on top of it! Both of those things are strongly linked to energy levels and well-being).

My mother recommended me to take iron supplements once a day. I usually take it in the morning with orange juice!
