latest & greatest vol. 100

Hello, friends! It’s been a few days, as I found myself needing to step back from social media this past week with everything going on. (If you’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed today, you are definitely not alone. Taking a break from the internet has been so helpful for me, highly recommend!) It’s been a heavy and hard week for everyone, hasn’t it?

I thought I’d pop on today to share a something fun, lighthearted and pretty with you… not in an effort to pretend like everything is fine and dandy, but rather to hopefully give you a break from the heaviness instead.

I’ve found this roundup of the cutest new arrivals to hit the web is best enjoyed with some Christmas music on in the background (unless you like to wait until after Thanksgiving, of course!) and a cup of hot coffee. Enjoy!

This week, I noticed that retailers are really starting to put on the holiday razzle-dazzle. I know everyone likes to start celebrating at different times (Andrew doesn’t want to see a decorated tree until after Thanksgiving ;) but I personally have enjoyed the distraction of Christmas and all of the fun that comes with it. Speaking of, isn’t this Christmas light headband too cute?

It’s been a heavy couple of weeks for me personally, from the loss of my grandmother to all that is unfolding right now, but I’m really, really looking forward to this weekend to reset, organize our house (our new countertops are making me so happy and I can’t wait to share more soon!), and work on some fun content for the coming weeks.

Honesty hour: I’m trying hard to finally let go of the mental “I need to get everything back to normal” narrative I’ve been telling myself lately. The truth is, so much of this year (perhaps the majority of it?) has been anything but normal, yet I still feel pressure to be carrying on as if nothing has changed.

If you find yourself in the same boat, I’m giving you a big hug. Let’s focus on the many, many things we have to be grateful for, and do our best to take each day one at a time. While it sounds so cliche, I think it’s more important now than ever!

Wishing you a restful, peace-filled weekend! I know we could all use it.

Love from the Sunshine State,

Kate

I love the fun beautiful things you are finding to share this fall! They do bring a much needed distraction from all the negativity in our social media feeds. Another thing I have found really helpful is to remember that our God is in control and that by having a longer-term “Kingdom Mentality” we can stay focused on what’s really important. Thanks for always being such a blessing and shining God’s light into the world for your subscribers Kate!

Kate I agree with you on having to push forward like things are normal, but they aren’t. I haven’t set foot into my company’s office since March 13th and I don’t see that changing soon. Granted I’m LOVING no commute and traffic lol but it is still odd. I hope you have an amazing and relaxing weekend!

P.S I’m with Andrew – no Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving ;)

God bless you Lonestar and my condolences for your loss.
This week I felt like the Holy Spirit was telling me numerous times that I don’t have to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders and to stop reading the news. Our Lord is in charge and all things work for the good for those who believe in Him. Instead of reading the news and having anxiety about the world, I am just praying more now.
I know God wants us to be happy, He wants us to live pure and holy lives (and get back up when we fall, or feel beaten down by the world.) He’s our Father and we are his children, and I know He will take care of us. He doesn’t want me fretting over world events that I can’t control. So, I am trying to enjoy the day and yes, anticipate with joy the coming of Christmas, the season of Advent, and continuing to keep the Faith, practice the Faith, and share the Faith with others at every opportunity.
I greatly appreciate your content! It provides a wholesome alternative to most of the other content on the Internet. We can’t let the darkness rob us of the true Light. This is the day the Lord had made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. This is how we show the world what it means to follow Jesus Christ.
    Peace and All Good!

By “heavy and hard week”, are you referring to the US election? Would you have preferred Trump to be re-elected?
