how i used our wedding monogram

It’s no secret that I love a good monogram. In fact, one of my absolute favorite details of our wedding was the custom monogram that Shuler Studio designed for me and Andrew. (Read about the entire process here!) To this day I think it’s one of the prettiest things I’ve ever laid eyes on. I couldn’t wait to bring it into our Southern-inspired wedding day!

When it comes to a wedding monogram (technically a “duogram” in our case, as we wanted to use it before we wed) there are endless ways to bring it into your special day. Your creativity truly is the limit!

Today, I wanted to share the different ways we incorporated our wedding monogram into our big day. I hope it adds a bit of pretty inspiration to your day!

Linens

When I first told my wedding planner about my vision for the wedding (think southern, classic, pink, etc) and my excitement about our duogram, the first thing she said was “You have to get your head table linens monogrammed!”

My photographer, whose taste I admire in every way, immediately recommended Skyler Baty of SB Monograms for the job. Talk about making a vision come to life!

I sent her my monogram file, selected a thread color, and in no time she had transformed my digital monogram into the most beautiful embroidery I had ever seen. I squealed out loud when I picked them up the week of the wedding!

These monogrammed linens truly took the head tables to the next level, and were such a special touch to the evening! I love that unlike most of the things you spend money on for a wedding, these are treasures I can use again and again as Andrew and I entertain over the years. So special!

A huge thank you to Skyler for making this vision become a reality. See more of her gorgeous work here!

Dance Floor

Oh, that pink dance floor monogram. Looking at these photos puts a smile on my face all over again!

The first time I saw a monogram on a dance floor was at a friend’s wedding a couple of years ago. Needless to say, it took my breath away when I walked into her reception! And that’s what I love about this special detail… it’s an immediate, high-impact way to really personalize your reception. My mom and I got compliments on it all night long, and are still hearing about it!

Our dance floor vendor offered a vinyl monogram service for an additional charge, and handled the set up and removal so that we didn’t have to do a thing. I think it was worth every penny!

Save the Dates & Stamps

Timeless and traditional invitations were my mom’s number one priority during the wedding planning process, so we decided to keep the invitations themselves simple and bring the monogram into the stamps and save the dates!

I ordered the stamps online from Stamps.com, and can’t wait to share more details about our save the dates and invitations soon!

Bridal Bouquet

A couple of weeks before the wedding, I realized that I didn’t have anything blue! (I guess that’s what happens when you have a pink wedding… oops!)

So, I had a ribbon embroidered with our duogram and wedding date to wrap around my bouquet and pin with my great aunt’s diamond broach. This last minute touch ended up being one of my very favorites. I’m planning on framing the ribbon in a shadow box once we get all settled in to our new home!

Reception Accessories

Let’s just say I went a little “monogram crazy” with our reception accessories. (But really, is anyone surprised?!) I used For Your Party to create custom cups, cocktail napkins, menus, coasters and so much more. I can’t wait to share more about the process soon!

We ended up having plenty of everything left over, and it’s been so fun using those pretty pink cups in our new home here in Florida!

Looking back, having a custom wedding monogram designed was truly one of the best decisions I made while wedding planning. It gave me and Andrew something beautiful, personal and timeless to theme our wedding around, and is a treasure I can’t wait to continue using in our home!

I hope this post added a bit of loveliness to your day, and I can’t wait to share more soon!

Love from the Sunshine State,

Kate

Hi Kate! I love seeing details from your wedding!! Can’t wait for more :) Did you only do the monogrammed napkins for the head table or for every guest?

Hi Lindsay! Great question! I only had monogrammed napkins for the head table. We used plain hemstitch napkins for the guests! xo Kate

Hi Kate! Thank you for sharing so much of your wedding- it was beautiful! Either I’m making it up or I recall you saying that you were going to use your monogram for China Place Settings. Do you have a recommendation for that?

    Thank you!
