Spring and summer are my perpetual “wearing wedges’ seasons. When you’re 5’2” like me, you’ll take any opportunity to get a little bit of extra height in! That’s why I’m continually on the lookout for cute, comfortable wedges I can pair with any jeans + top ensemble to instantly elevate my look.

I have absolutely loved these Steve Madden “Survive” wedges, and have been wearing them non-stop with all of my spring dresses and any occasion that calls for an extra bit of primp. And while I love their height, they’re not exactly wearable for every day.

Needless to say. when I saw these gold wedges debut at J.Crew it was a dream come true! Among the many gorgeous color choices (we’re talking blush, coral and leopard, y’all) I landed on this fabulous gold.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “Gold… hmmm, that’s a bold choice,” let me tell you a little story that I mentioned on Instagram Stories last week. My freshman year roommate at college had a pair of gold Michael Kors wedges that I remember to this day. Why? Because they went with everything and made the loveliest statement. I searched for her same pair for forever, but with no luck.

That’s why I knew gold was the way to go with this pair, and I have to say friends, I’m confident I made the right decision! In the two short weeks I’ve had these beauties, I’ve worn them more times than I can count. For wedges, they’re so comfortable and a great height for walking. I do put band-aids on my heels to keep them from rubbing, though!

Now that I’ve fallen in love with the gold, I’m so tempted to get the blush as well. When you find a great silhouette like this, it’s hard to say no!

Before signing off, I had to mention this darling smocked top. Isn’t the magenta hue stunning? It’s such a fun number for spring and summer nights out!

Love from Texas,

Kate

P.S. If you’re curious about sizing, I found these run true to size! I’m in a size 7.

J.Crew always makes such cute shoes! I agree with you too, gold is a neutral! As long as it’s not ultra shiny (which these aren’t) it goes with everything. I had some gold McKims that I wore out because they matched my whole wardrobe. Love the shade of that top, xAllie

I’ve been loving the look of espadrille style shoes lately. I recently got a pair of espadrille flatforms.
