get ready with me // updated summer makeup routine

Hey y’all! I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. I have to admit, my internal clock is all switched around. Andrew was on call Friday night through Monday night, so it really didn’t feel like a holiday weekend to me! I’m sitting here thinking it’s Monday morning, but I won’t complain about a short week! :)

Last week, I mentioned I had gotten the urge to film a super casual, nothing fancy look at my updated skincare routine. Literally, I just propped my phone up against a candle as I got ready for the day.

My makeup routine has stayed largely consistent over the years (you can see all of the posts I’ve done on it here), but a month or so ago I decided to purchase a few new products from the Sephora Sale. I’ve also added a couple of other things in as well… like a facial sunscreen I’m loving and a blush color that I’m obsessed with. So things are kinda fresh and new, and I’m having so much fun with it!

This quick little video will give you a peek into how I apply and use each product. I’ve linked them all below, and have added “*” next to the new products I’ve been using in my routine!

I hope you enjoy!

There you have it! Little by little, I’ve been learning more and more about what works best for my skin in creating a lovely-but-natural look. I’ve also started learning more and more about the importance of clean products… and all of the crazy ingredients that are in some of my favorite makeup brands. Eek!

I don’t know that I’ll ever do a full overhaul, but I’ve decided to gradually try to look for cleaner alternatives to some of my favorite beauty go-to’s, and bringing in a few new products and brands (like TULA and Beautycounter, for example) has been a fun way to do that! I’ll keep you updated on what I find, and would love to hear all of your recommendations!

Love from the Sunshine State,

Kate

I switched to cleaner products a little over a year ago, and am so glad I did! I love Beautycounter too, and use their satin powder blush and lip gloss as well. Other clean brands I recommend checking out are Drunk Elephant for skincare and body care, ILIA for makeup, and Primally Pure for body care!

Loved the tutorial. Hope this isn’t a silly question, but where is your bow-headband from? It’s adorable!
