Friends. What a weekend! If you saw my post from Friday, you’re up to speed in knowing that this weekend, I headed to Denver for the first time to visit a very dear high school friend, Camille! I’m sifting through all of the beautiful sites visited and fun memories made in my head and can’t decide where to even start. So how about this. I’ll dedicate a post later this week to recapping my full time in the beautiful city of Denver, but for today, let’s start with a favorite moment from my first full 24 hours there…
Since Camille had class and work all of Friday (she’s a smartie pants grad student at the University of Denver) I had a few hours to explore the city on my own! Dixie Chicks playlist on full blast, I had the best time driving through the different neighborhoods while taking in the mountain scenery in the distance. Definitely a nice change of pace from the miles and miles of flat we have here in Dallas!
That afternoon, I stopped by Lula Rose General Store for a cup of hot chocolate. Y’all… it was the cutest, coziest coffee shop I’ve ever come across, filled with fresh grounds, yummy baked goods, and the most beautiful natural light.
BOOTS Manitobah Kanada Mukluk Boots c/o | VEST Patagonia Better Sweater Vest (I own in 2 colors!) | HEADBAND Turtle Fur Ear Warmer | LEGGINGS Lululemon Leggings (similar here) | SHIRT Long Sleeved Shirt (old Gap, similar linked) | BRACELET Gold Stud Bracelet c/o | WATCH Michael Kors Watch
I was so excited to finally pull out my fun Manitobah Mukluk boots for the trip! Can we talk about how fun the pom poms are? While I had envisioned inches and inches of fresh snow in which to break them in, Denver decided to do the unexpected and usher in unseasonably warm weather for a few days. Oh well… I still had so much fun layering up in a look I’d never be able to wear about in Dallas. I think this posh ensemble would be perfect for any of you lucky enough to be skiing over spring break! (I’m such a huge fan of this Patagonia vest that I own it in two colors…)
I was so excited get some photos of the afternoon in with the uber-talented Brandon, after coming across his work on Instagram! A fellow ex-resident of Austin, Texas, I really enjoyed hearing about his move to the mountains with his wife, and their new life here. Turns out he’s an incredible wedding photographer, so if any of you girls have a Colorado wedding in your future, definitely check him out.
While I’m oh so bummed not to be waking up in Denver this morning, it’s always nice to get settled back into a normal routine upon returning from a trip! I hope you all had a restful, enjoyable weekend, and can’t wait to bring you more moments from mine this week!
Love from Texas,
