gingham + scallops

It was the most gorgeous day I’ve seen in a while yesterday, y’all. Us Dallasites have been lucky enough to experience some lovely days as of late, but yesterday was downright magic. Sunny skies, a warm breeze, everything you’d hope for a perfect April Saturday. I couldn’t help but pull out some tried and true spring favorites to enjoy some time outside in!

It’s almost laughable how much I’ve worn this very gingham button down on the blog… in fact, I dare you to type “gingham” into the search bar to the right if you have time. But it’s because there’s simply no better staple with which to build a timeless, lady-like look no matter the season! In this case, I couldn’t help but add another southern staple, the scalloped hemline, to the mix. Could you dream up a cuter, more southern skirt than this? I can already tell it’s going to rival the gingham button down in terms of how much wear it gets!

Throwing on a white denim jacket was the perfect way to keep the ensemble springy without sacrificing warmth. The beauty of a white denim jacket is that you can throw it over all of your favorite summer tanks (this fun peplum, for example) to ease them into the still-chilly first months of spring! Definitely a must.
