the perfect summer-to-fall maxi dress

DRESS   blue patterned maxi dress (just $26!)   |   EARRINGS   white tassel earrings (similar linked)   |   WEDGES   neutral wedges (similar linked)   |   BAG   wooden clutch (similar linked)

We’re all familiar with the wonders of a good maxi dress, right? The effortless femininity, the easy elegance (and my favorite part) the instant comfort factor are just a few of the reasons I love this dress silhouette so much! (Oh, and not to mention the ability to wear heels undetected underneath for instant height. ;)

In a nutshell, I love maxi dresses, and this one from Belk in particular! Not only is it a favorite for all of the reasons listed above, but this is one maxi you can start wearing now and easily style into fall!

For this tail end of summer, it looks darling paired with wedges and some fun, white statement earrings. All you need is a cute denim jacket, however, and a pair of gold hoops to instantly transition this into autumn.

Secondly, the price tag. At $26, a dress you can get so much use out of is a no-brainer. Perfect for Saturday brunch, that never-ending list of wedding and baby showers and endless other occasions.

This marks the third week of my partnership with Belk, and I am so thrilled and thankful to hear y’all are as excited about it as I am! Here is a sneak peek at two other looks I’ll be sharing on Instagram this week… enjoy!

Kate, let me start off by saying I really do enjoy reading your blog. I’ve been following along since your college days and I’m a big fan! I don’t mean for this to be malicious, but I’m a little disappointed in how much you’ve been focusing on sponsored content recently, more so on Instagram. While I’m very happy that you’re wearing more affordable brands like Belk, I’m disappointed to see that this partnership, as well as the Nordstrom Sale, have dominated your posts for the past few weeks. I totally get that sponsored posts are where you make the money that makes running your blog possible and I’m so happy for all of the success you’ve had, but I feel like your content recently has been so sponsorship and liketoknowit heavy (especially on Instagram stories) and its unfortunate because it comes across as so much less genuine and real than your older content. I would appreciate more varied content, or at least fewer repeat posts about brands/products that are sponsored. Again, I’m a huge fan and I’m to trying to attack you, just providing some feedback from a loyal reader!

      Hi Kendall,

I really, really appreciate how kindly-worded your feedback is. I completely understand and really value your opinion, and so appreciate you following along for all of these years! Like you mentioned, sponsored content is what allows me to continue blogging, and I work really hard to make sure that sponsored content is just as engaging as organic posts. That being said, I will be sure to continue posting non-sponsored content along with projects that make Lonestar Southern possible. Thank you for your understanding, patience and readership throughout it all! It means the world.

      Love from Texas,
      Kate
