“Windswept” is built up to be such a glamorous look, isn’t it? It’s kinda funny when you think about it. Maybe on a perfect day where the “wind” hardly qualifies as a breeze, maybe on those days you can be glamorous and windswept all at once.
On the other 364 days, you’ll end up like I did this evening on the cruise. The wind was hilariously strong… please picture my mother and I trying to capture this lovely, flowy dress while in a constant cycle of hair being twisted all around my face and skirt deciding to fly up to my shoulders. The reality of windswept, and take it from me ladies, is a rude awakening. ;)
While I decided to forgo blinding your eyes with the photos captured in the situations above, I’m so happy to have gotten a few images of that seemingly artificial, perfect, non-obtrusive breeze. Because nothing shows off a dance-worthy dress quite like it!
This little number has so much flounce, it’s a dream to walk in! I had the second layer of ruffle hemmed up, which added a fuller and even bouncier nature that I just adore. At $36, stash this beauty into your suite case for your “all white from head to toe family beach christmas card picture” (we’ve all done it) or bring it to the dance floor to be the life of the party. Or, join me on a deck in the middle of the Caribbean Sea in it to experience the dark side of windswept.
Please note – I am not dramatic at all.
Love from Texas,
P.S. Whenever I feature a piece from SheInside, I get a lot of questions about quality, so I wanted to take the time to shed a little bit of light on that! In terms of this dress specifically, I couldn’t be happier! Some of the seaming in non-noticeable places wasn’t perfectly neat, but besides that I didn’t have any problems. In person, it looks way more expensive than it is… always a plus, in my book! Quick tip for shopping the site – take a look at the “Style Gallery” under each piece, if one is available. That will give you a better picture of how the pieces look in real life. Hope that helps!
