Considering my last coffee date was in August… (ducks her head in shame)… I’m thinking it’s high time for a quick recap! You’ve probably gotten your fill of my fall semester through the blog already, so don’t worry, I don’t plan on dragging you through it all over again. Rather, I thought I’d fill ya in on my latest trip to Charlotte, NC, and all that’s happened in the brand new 2015! Ready? Grab your cup and let’s get started.
As you know if you’ve been following along, I got to make the hike up to Charlotte, NC to visit the boy and his family! Little did I know that I would be embarking on a trip within a trip… TCU, the college Jeff attends, played in the peach bowl on New Years Eve, so we ended up taking a road trip down to Atlanta to see the game! I’m not the best football fan (I blame it on the fact that the only boy in our household is my dad) but I have to say, I had the best time! And I’m so lucky I coincidentally packed something purple to wear there!
New Years Day was relaxed and wonderful – just as it should be! After spending a low key evening with Jeff’s family in Atlanta, we spent the majority of New Years Day driving back to Charlotte, toped off with a delicious dinner and date night. I compiled this instagram of four of my favorite looks from 2014. Good gravy, time goes by too fast!
Next, I got to grab breakfast and indulge in a long-overdue catch up with sweet Caitlin from Southern Curls and Pearls! She is genuinely one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met, and seeing her was such a treat. I’m scheming about how to get her to move down to Dallas. :) Any ideas? I’m all ears!
One of my favorite memories from my trip to Charlotte was going iceskating outdoors! Caitlin suggested that Jeff and I make a stop at the cutest skating rink in uptown Charlotte. Jeff never really got his sea legs (can you tell from his expression?) which made it all the more enjoyable for me… muahaha. :)
After a wonderful trip, I finally made it back to Dallas. Even with the frigid weather, the cabbage arrangements my mother keeps on our porch seem to be thriving. They are absolutely stunning!
Ever since, I’ve been laying pretty low. This snap is from Monday while getting ready for dinner before the Bachelor premier! I am such a sucker for that show, and the sad part is the older I get, the more I enjoy it. Terrible, I know.
If you read the blog on Wednesday, you would have seen my little freakout over the newly announced Lilly Pulitzer for Target collaboration. Apparently there are quite a few people who aren’t too happy about the news… While I totally see both sides, I got a kick out of this Buzzfeed article! This girl will unashamedly be in line, “class” and all. ;)
Just yesterday, I welcomed a new little friend to the gang – the new iPhone 6! After a crazy slow, crazy cracked 5, it was definitely time for an upgrade. I’m obsessed with the new case I just got for it, and am hoping that it and the “gorilla glass” I bought for it will keep it crack-free!
Last but farrr from least… I am so excited about these Tory Burch wedges I just got! While I still have a couple months before I’ll be able to wear them, they’ve already given me spring fever! So much so that I pulled the trigger on one of the new Kate Spade bow swim tops (hurry up, postman!) and am daydreaming about romantic walks by the beach in this little coverup. Luckily, I have a feeling that all of that will be here before we know it!
I hope all of you have had a wonderful start to your new year as well! I still have two weeks (gasp!) before I head back to UT, but I’ know a bunch of schools start this Monday. if that’s you, best of luck! Enjoy those first, easy, Netflix-filled weeks. :) And thanks for stopping in for a coffee date!
Love from Texas,
