I Dream of Jack Rogers

The other night, I was forced to decide between Jack Rogers sandals and a pair of wedges. The outfit called for the wedges, but my heart called for the Jacks. (Can’t you just feel the struggle?)

Dissatisfied and determined, I raced over to the Jack Rogers site in hopes of discovering the perfect solution to my quarry. To my dismay, Jack and I weren’t on the same page.

Jack Rogers Wedges

Do you see what I mean? Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that these shoes are horrible by any means. There are plenty of cute pairs that I would compliment any owner on. But none were exactly what I had in mind.

So what did I do? I designed my own. And I’m oh so excited to share them with you!
Jack Rogers

1. I wanted something youthful.

Jack Rogers has a strong young adult following. And by ‘young adult” I mean girls who love Lilly Pulitzer agendas, and monogrammed jewelry trays and who’s main responsibilities include passing classes, perfecting recipes, and pinning. (PS, are you pinning with me yet? Look me up under Lonestar Southern) So I made my shoe with the fun, stylish, young woman in mind.

2. I wanted something functional.

Clumsy girls like me know that the more strap to heel ratio, the better. And safer. For everyone. So I used two straps across the foot and one across the heel to accomplish stylistic, comfort, and risk-management ends.

3. I wanted something Jack Rogers.

With many of the wedges offered, if I saw you walk by in them I wouldn’t automatically think “She’s wearing Jack Rogers! I want her shoes and we would be best friends!” And that’s what I want to run through my mind when I see Jacks. I modified the traditional strap of your every day Jacks, complete with all of the whipping, to ensure a true Jack Rogers feel.

So what do you think? Do you own any Jack Rogers wedges?  What are your thoughts on my design? Would you wear them?

Wishing you a very happy day! Love, Kate

Join in on the fun!
