2 A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS // FEBRUARY 2020

And just like that… we’re a week into March!

Last month, I published my first ever “A Few Of My Favorite Things” from January. It was so fun to spill on everything I had been loving, and I loved getting the feedback that you liked it as well!

So today, as we head into the first weekend of March, I’m excited to continue this little series with a roundup of my favorite things from February. Nothing’s off-limits, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been loving lately!

FEBRUARY 2020

MY DAILY SMOOTHIE

I’ve been playing around with different lunch options lately, and was recently inspired to get back into smoothies after seeing a few easy, simple, yummy-looking recipes on IG Stories! Over the past few weeks, I’ve concocted my own. The result? A delicious, filling smoothie that’s packed with all sorts of goodness. I genuinely look forward to it every day! Here’s my recipe:

BRUSHABLE VOLUME (THAT LASTS!)

You know those items you love and use all the time… and then, for whatever reason, you end up forgetting about them? That’s what happened with this amazing hair volumizer… the Voloom! My hairstylist, Kirstin, first recommended it to me and now it’s a staple in the routines of my mom and sister as well! On my recent trip to Dallas, I was reminded of this amazing little tool. (It had gotten shoved into the back of a drawer when we unpacked here in Gainesville. I’m SO happy to have it back!

How does it work? Basically, like a crimper! Section off the top layer of your hair, then press and release the Voloom as close to the root as you can for the underlying layers. Gives your hair instant volume you can brush (no teasing required) and it lasts for days!

THE PERFECT PINK POUT

New lip color obsession alert! The shade “Radiant Rose” in Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost gloss gives you the perfect pop of pink. I’m obsessed with it for spring and summer! I will say… I’m not the biggest fan of the texture of the gloss (it’s a little heavier and sticker than my favorite Chanel formula) but I’m getting more used to it day by day. Totally worth it for the shade!

WOULD RATHER BE WEARING

Did you hear the news?! I started a new Instagram account, and I’m having so much fun with it! The whole idea is daily curated outfit inspiration, clean and simple. No rambling IG stories, no personal life, just fashion! You can follow it HERE and shop all the outfits HERE. Always love hearing which ensembles you’re most drawn to!

$17 Balloon Arch

Y’all. Y’ALL. Ok. Here’s the deal. I haven’t been this giddily-excited about something in quite a while. What, you might ask? This $17 balloon arch! I ordered it for my mom’s birthday celebrations this past weekend and oh my goodness. It blew us all away! Here’s the deal: you definitely need to buy an electric balloon pump for it. (I bought this one and it worked great.) But once you have that, you can create a stunning, and I mean stunning, balloon arch on your own in about two hours! Here’s a photo of how ours turned out. (We ran out of time to put the mini balloons on.) I wanted to pack it up and fly it back to Gainesville with me!

Fake Bake

Whenever we get to this time of year… when spring is just around the corner and we’re all feeling so over turtlenecks… I’m always re-reminded of the magic of the fake tan. In my opinion, it’s one of the quickest and easiest confidence-boosters out there! I pulled out my trusty St. Tropez this week (I apply with this mitt and use this product and a kabuki brush from Target for my face) and am feeling much better about myself with a warm glow. When will I ever learn to keep applying it year-round?!

feelin’ that spring clean

I’ve owned my share of HomeGoods acrylic organizers, but never really found one that worked perfectly for me until recently. One of my favorite gals on the ‘gram, Rachel Awtrey, recommended this beauty organizer and it’s changed my life! Why? It fits everything I need, with a little room to spare. That’s right, the compartments are long and tall enough to fit all the brushes and compacts for my daily routine! Which is, funnily enough, difficult to find. Five stars from me!

The Truly Koozie

A self-professed Truly-lover (a refreshing spiked seltzer that took the world by storm this summer) I decided to order these koozies as stocking stuffers for myself and Andrew, not really knowing if they worked that well or not. Just cute in theory, right? Wrong: we use them all the time! We love taking one of these when we head out to the golf course, or even just to hold and sip on the back porch. It keeps your drink cold, and you can’t put a price on that. Great gift idea, and tons of color options!

So now that I’ve shared a few of my favorites, I’d love to hear yours! Anything you’ve been especially loving this month?

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Love from the Sunshine State,

Kate

So fun! Love these posts! I’ve been especially loving my Lake bathrobe, perfect for cozy mornings sipping coffee on the couch. I’ve also been loving the Rodan and Fields microdermabrasion paste, keeps my skin from getting to yucky. And lastly, my hydroflask 32oz water bottle. Keeps my water at work ice cold all day long and therefore I sip more throughout the day. :)
